TRIVIA ANSWERS & EXPLANATIONS

1. Mount Locust. There were over 50 roadside inns located on the Natchez Trace between Nashville and Natchez between the American Revolution and 1820 with the coming of steamboat travel on the Mississippi River. These inns provided a warm meal and sleeping quarters typical of pioneer cabins.

2. President Andrew Jackson. In August, 1791 Andrew Jackson (seventh President of the United States) married Rachel Donelson Robards before Magistrate Thomas Marston Green, Sr. at Springfield Plantation near Church Hill in Jefferson County, MS.

3.  Union Church.  The Scottish settlers of Union Church in Jefferson County, MS migrated together from Glasgow, Scotland to Robeson County, North Carolina and on to Union Church.
