It would be interesting if each researcher in Jefferson County would contribute at least one recipe but no more than five. Each submission should be from a different ancestor. When you submit your recipe, please include the name of the ancestor to whom the recipe can first be attributed, dates (if known) and a little info about them. Submit by e-mailing Carolyn Adams Switzer [email protected] .

.....My Grandma-Great Ivie Nora Montgomery (b. 3 Nov 1879) married Solomon Perry
("Bud") Rowland 3 Mar 1903 in Franklin County, MS. "Bud" took his
bride Ivie to live in Jefferson County in the Stampley area. She was the daughter of
William ("Bill") Montgomery and Maranda Ellen Bowlin. He was the son of Solomon
B. ("Sol") Rowland and Sophia Emily Compton. In Jefferson County most of their
children were born including my grandmother Annie Kate Rowland. Later "Bud" and
Ivie moved to Natchez. In the 16 years I knew Grandma-Great (d. 1964), her kitchen was the
most important place in the house! Every time I stayed overnight with her, she would teach
me how to cook something new. For this I am forever grateful!
As a volunteer for The USGenWeb Project, I am open to any ideas and
suggestions.
