The Lemaitre Cemetery is located in Escatawpa near the corner of Highway 613 and Dutch Bayou Road, on the South side, partly on the property of Earnest and Flora Lemaitre. The cemetery is actually three cemeteries: the Lemaitre, the Community and Harris Cemeteries, however it is commonly known as the Lemaitre.
The Lemaitre Cemetery has a chain length fence around it and contain members of that family, with surnames of Lemaitre, Graham, Lennep and Thompson.. The oldest grave in this part is dated 1895. The Community Cemetery in on land donated by the Delmas family prior to 1890, contain surnames of Canfield, Bailey, Crane, Cromer, Cunningham, Ehlers, Gardner, Greenough, Grunhagen,Livaudias, Miller, Ratliff, Reus, Rhodes, Roberts, Spratley/Spradley, Suthoff and Turner.
The oldest marked grave in this portion is 1893. The Harris Cemetery adjoins the Community. It is the size of a family plot and was given by the Henry Harris family (Ablack family) for their relatives. There is five graves in this plot and the oldest is dated 1900.
