Issaquena Genealogy and History Project: James M. McQuaid Monument


The headstone of James M. McQuaid, a school teacher born in Pennsylvania. He was listed in the 1860 Issaquena County Federal Census as teaching school, and was living with D.D. Jackson, an Issaquena County physician and planter. Yellow Fever claimed his life. He was buried in a family cemetery south of Mayersville.
