A now extinct town which existed before the civil war. It was located on the west side of the Tombigbee river, about 12 miles south of Fulton. |
Rara Avis |
Located 13 miles east of Fulton. Year 1900 Population: 100 |
Wheeling |
This old town is located on the Tombigbee river, below the village of Van Buren. Founded after the sale of the Indian lands, it's life was very short. All existing business was absorbed into the latter town. It's sole Hotel was owned by Jefferson Foster. Other merchants were: J.P. Snow, and Jowers & Holcomb. |
