State of Mississippi, Claiborne County

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we Isaac Choat and Daniel Lemmons of said County, are held and firmly bound unto Gerard C. Brandon Governor of the State of Mississippi aforesaid, or his successors in Office, in the sum of two hundred dollars, lawful money of said State, to which payment well and truly to be made to the said Governor for the time being, or his successors in office, we find ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, each and every of us and them, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.  Sealed with our seals, and dated this twenty-third day of June, A. D. eighteen hundred and thirty.

     THE CONDITION OF THIS OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be celebrated between the above bound Isaac Choat and Catharine McAllister now if there is no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.  Signed, Sealed and Delivered in presence of      Wm. To any Judge, Minister or Justice, lawfully authorized to celebrate the Rites of Matrimony.

     You are hereby Licensed to celebrate the Rites of Matrimony between Isaac Choat and Catharine McAllister.

     Given under my hand, and seal of my office, this 23rd day of June A. D. one thousand eight hundred thirty.                                                     Wm. Davis, (signed), Register.

     In virtue of a license from the Clerk of Claiborne County, I have this day celebrated the rites of Matrimony between Isaac Choat and Catharine McAlister.

Brandon Governor of the State of Mississippi aforesaid, or his successors in Office, in the sum of two hundred dollars, lawful money of said State, to which payment well and truly to be made to the said Governor for the time being, or his successors in office, we find ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, each and every of us and them, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.  Sealed with our seals, and dated this fifth day of November, A. D. eighteen hundred and thirty-one.
