C. E. Boulson to be Honored by Society
The next regular meeting of the Webster County Historical Society will be held Tuesday, March 23, at 7:00PM, in the Webster County History Museum. This will be a special meeting, as we will be honoring Mr. C.E. Boulson for his outstanding work to preserve the history of Webster County.
Mr. Boulson lived in Marshfleld for many years, where he served as General Manager of Sho-Me Power Corporation. He retired from that position in 1974, and recently he and his wife moved to Springfield, MO.
He has contributed a wealth of historical information, not only to the Society's Webster County Historical Journals, but to history books, and many other articles as well. He has also been a longtime member of the Webster County Historical Society.
Many people have been instrumental in the collection and preservation of Webster County history, but perhaps none have contributed more than Mr. Boulson.
We hope to have a good crowd at this meeting, as we will be demonstrating our gratitude to Mr. Boulson by presenting him with an award.

Individuals seeking to make a contribution to the Webster County Historical Society may now do so and qualify for a tax exemption under the 501(C)3 code. The Society has been approved by the IRS to take advantage of this benefit. Anyone wishing to make a donation may attend one of our regular meetings or send it to P.O. Box 13, Marshfield, MO 65706. Contributions go to the collection, preservation, and display of Webster County historical artifacts and information.

The Book Report
We are proud to announce that printing has been completed on the Webster County History Book. Workers at Webster County Printing are now hard at work assembling or collating the over 1100 pages of the book. As soon as this is complete, all will be shipped to the binding company for binding and cover. This final stage is expected to take 6 weeks. An exact delivery date is not available at this time.

A large number of our members live in rural Webster County. If you are one of them, please let us know your new 911 address at the next meeting.

The Society is looking forward to a visit this summer from the decendants of Edwin P. Hubble. Mr. Hubble was born in Marshfleld, and, in his youth, often visited his grandparents on their farm south of town. The Hubble family has quite a large Historical Society of their own, and they are coming to Marshfield to see Mr. Hubble's birthplace and perhaps visit the farm where his grandparents lived.
The museum committee will be putting together a display of Mr. Hubble's life and work, to be completed before the Hubble family's visit.

Meeting Dates for the next quarter are:

Grant May Assist Museum Renovations
Webster Electric Cooperative is now taking applications for their new grant program. The Society has submitted an application for this grant, which would be used to fund the renovation project that is currently ongoing at the Webster County History Museum. This project will include some new electrical wiring, new ceilings, floor refinishing, and other improvements. Once these renovations have been completed, the building might qualify to be included on the Register of Historic Buildings.
Alternate funding for the renovation is not available at the present time, and many items cannot be displayed until the project is completed. Information on the grant should be available soon. Contributions from other sources are still much in need.
