HERMAN MICHEL

Mr. Herman Michel age 81 passed away at the Aurora hospital on Wednesday June 9 at 8:55 p.m. where he had been a patient for a week. He had made his home on route one Marionville for a number of years. Mr. Michel is survived by one daughter, Miss Anna Michel of the home, three sons, Lewis Michel of Aurora, Mo. Emmett Michel and Roy Michel of Marionville, Mo. eight grandchildren, three great-grand children; one brother Charlie Michel of Hartshorn, Mo.

Funeral services were held at the Bradford-Surridge Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Friday  June 11. Interment under direction of Bradford-Surridge was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Fred McPhail officiated and was assisted by Rev. H.V. Wells. The Wells quartet sang.

Pallbearers were: Harry Toyntou, Louis Baum, Fred Peiter, Lester Davis, Ward Maples and S.L. Rapp.  (Marionville Free Press Thursday June 17, 1954 )

According to Pay Moyer who submitted this obiturary Herman Michel lived in Stone County, Mo, Grant Township from 1883-1954. He was the son of George & Anna Michel and brother of Charles Michel. Pat Moyer is the great-granddaughter of Charles Michel.
