Weiler-Wagoner
AUGUST WEILER MARRIED IN ST. LOUIS WEDNESDAY
A very pretty wedding took place at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in St. Louis, Wednesday, February 5, 1930 when Miss Claire Wagoner became the bride of August Weiler, youngest son of Mrs. Peter Weiler, Sr., of this city. The Rev. Father Joseph Lubeley officiated at the ceremony.

 

The attendants were Miss Alice Wagoner, a sister of the bride and Joseph T. Weiler, a cousin of the groom.

 

The bride was charmingly attired in a brown crepe dress with egg shell sleeves, studded in gold nail beads and hat of brown broad beaver felt trimmed in brown and egg shell feathers. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and Lilies of the Valley. Her attendant was gowned in a pretty capucine crepe dress, brown felt hat, trimmed in capucine velvet ribbon and carried a bouquet of Talisman roses.

 

Following the ceremony the wedding party had breakfast at the Kingsway Hotel. They will make their future home in St. Louis.

 

Mayor and Mrs. P. H. Weiler attended the wedding and were accompanied to the city by Mrs. H. J. Fallert and Mrs. Walter Baum. They returned to Ste. Genevieve Wednesday.

Schuh-Schweiss
At SS. Philip and James Church at River Aux Vases on Tuesday, Oct. 5(?), at 9 a.m., Fred Schuh, son of the late Valentine Schuh and Mary Jakorst to Miss Elisabeth Genevieve Schweiss, daughter of August Schweiss and Mary Grass. The witnesses were And. Schweiss, brother of the bride, and Miss Matilda Schuh, sister of the groom. The ceremony was performed by Father L. Broeckelmann and was followed by a nuptial high mass.

The reception held at the beautiful country home of the bride's parents was attended by the relatives and a large circle of friends of the newly married couple and at night a dance was had at the home of the groom's parents. They will make their home on the Peter A. Rigdon farm recently purchased by them.

Bahr-Valle
At 6 o'clock in the Church of Ste. Genevieve on Wednesday, October 6th, 1915, John J. Bahr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. B. Bahr, and Miss Mary Valle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Valle, Rev. C. L. Van Tourenhout officiating . The bridal witnesses were Elizabeth Bahr and Leo Valle. The wedding festivities were held at the home of the bride's parents. We wish the newly married couple a long, happy and prosperous married life.

Lurk-Trautman
Oscar Lurk and Miss Christine O. Trautman were united in marriage at nine o'clock mass at the Church of Ste. Genevieve on Tuesday, September 7th,1926, Rev. C. L. van Tourenhout officiating. The witnesses were Miss Catherine Tomisek of St. Louis, an intimate friend of the bride, as bridesmaid, and Byron Lurk, brother of the groom, as best man. A splendid dinner and supper were served to the happy couple, only the nearest relatives and most intimate friends being present on account of the recent death of the bride's father. In the evening Mr. and Mrs. Lurk made a honeymoon trip to Commerce on the steamer Cape Girardeau, returning on Thursday evening. The bride is a daughter of the last Charles Trautman and Theresa Flieg and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. August Lurk nee Lena Winston. They are well respected young people and have numerous friends with who the Herald joins in hoping that theirs may be a long, happy and prosperous married life. The groom has employment with the Uding Contracting Co. and he and his bride will make their home in Ste. Genevieve.

Buchanan-Thomure
The wedding of Miss Beulah Marie Thomure, daughter of Isaac Thomure, of Farmington Route Three, and Norval Bryant Buchanan, son of Wm. Wesley Buchanan of Farmington Route Two, took place on last Sunday afternoon at four o'clock at the home of the groom's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Buchanan. Rev. Leslie Clemons, paster of the Three Rivers Baptist Church, officiated in a single ring ceremony. The bride was lovely in a suit of soldier blue with black accessories and wore a corsage of red rosebuds. Her attendant was Miss Alta Ada Thomure, an only sister of the bride. She was attired in a dress of red crepe and wore a corsage of white chrysanthemums. John Buchanan, brother of the groom, served as best man. Following the ceremony, close relatives remained for an informal reception after which the group gathered at the home which the groom had prepared for his bride where they all witnessed the carrying of the blushing bride over the threshold.

Govreau-Thomure
At half past one o'clock on Sunday afternoon, February 11th, 1923, Elmer Govreau and Miss Bettie Thomure of Route No. 3, Farmington, were married at the Rectory of the Weingarten parish by Rev. Wm. A. Kotte, pastor. The witnesses were Miss Laura Govreau as bridesmaid and Dennis Thomure as groomsman. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Thomure and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Govreau. The newly married couple have many friends who wish for them a happy married life. They will make their home on a farm near River aux Vases. (NOTE: Route 3 Farmington where the Thomures lived is in Ste. Genevieve County.)
