Rachel Neil Ammann, 82, Deepwater, passed away Oct. 8, 2007 at Ellett
Memorial Hospital, Appleton City.
Funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Sheldon-Goodrich
Chapel, Osceola, with burial in the Lowry City Cemetery under the
direction of Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home.

Rachel Neil Ammann was born Jan. 26, 1925 in Verden, Okla., to Ralph
and Zola (Woods) Hess. She passed away Oct. 8, 2007 at Ellett Memorial
Hospital, Appleton City.
On January 13, 1958 Rachel was united in marriage to Phillip H.
Ammann. To this union one child was born, Jerome Henry Ammann, on Oct.
27, 1958.
Rachel was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She enjoyed
fishing, hiking and airplane rides.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Alice
Keeling.
Survivors include her husband, Phillip of the home, son, Jerome Henry
Ammann, Deepwater, brothers, Jr. Ralph Hess, Stanley Hess, and Jack
Hess, sisters, Phyllis Lantz and Vera Paragino, other relatives and
friends.
Services were held Thursday, Oct. 11 at Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel.
Officiated by Reverend Fred Stevens.
Music selections were played by Irene Hartley.
Casketbearers were Lester K. Rufenacht, Bill Chiles Jerome, Klaus
Helbert, Henry Ammann, Darrel Ammann and Danny Stewart.
Interment was in Lowry City Cemetery with arrangements made by
Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.
AMMANN, Robin Ann Garrison

Robin Ann Garrison Ammann passed from this earth on May 15, 2006. She
was born on Jan. 26, 1955, to Jerold and Patsy Carter Garrison.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jerold Barnes Garrison; her
paternal grandparents, Homer and Bessie Garrison; and her maternal
grandparents, Norman and Iva Carter.
She married Jerome Ammann in 2001. He survives her. Her four children
also survive her, which includes three daughters, Amy and her husband,
Jessie Case, Collins, Ginny Witt, Raymore and Samantha Witt,
Harrisonville and one son, Jerold Fly Worsley, Harrisonville.
Robin was also blessed with five grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher,
Emma, Carter Case and Noah Worsley. Survivors also include Robin's
sisters, Melody Joplin and her husband, Glen, Osceola, Susan Ross and
her husband, George, Millheim, Pa., and Patty Jones and her husband,
Jeff, Centerview; her aunts, Judith Reinsel and her husband, David and
Janice Kerley, all of Raymore; three nephews; one niece and numerous
cousins.
Robin graduated from College High School, Warrensburg, in 1973 and had
lived much of her adult life in the Osceola area.
Services for Robin were Thursday, May 18, in the Sheldon-Goodrich
Chapel with Greg Mangum officiating.
The musical selection "How Great Thou Art" was presented by the Bear
Creek Bluegrass Gospel Band and Peter Hauer.
Casketbearers were Taylor Joplin, Jeffrey Jones, David Hawkins, Glen
Joplin, Christopher Case, Joshua Kelley, Dean Powell and Victor Witt.
Interment was in the Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of
Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.
AMOS, Frank Lee

Frank Lee Amos, 17, of El Dorado Springs, was born in Sedalia, to
Larry Robert and Mary Lucille Hamel Amos. He died Saturday, January
22, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield of injuries received in
an automobile accident.
Frank lived in Warsaw before moving to the ElDorado Springs area in
1988. He was a senior at Osceola High School and a member of the
National Honor Society.
Frank is survived by his father, Larry R. Amos of Collins; his mother,
Mrs. Mary Whitby of El Dorado Springs; one brother, Robert Amos of El
Dorado Springs; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Waneta Ferguson of
Ridge Crest, California; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Betty Paxton
of Osceola; maternal grandfather, Phillip Hamel of Sedalia, aunts,
cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 27, 1994 at the
Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel in Osceola. Burial will be in the Benton Green
Cemetery.
ANDERS, Everett C.

Funeral services for Everett C. Anders, Hemet, Cal., were held Friday,
Dec. 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodrich Chapel with Elder Wilmer Harper
officiating.
Casketbearers were Paul Crawford, Robert T. Lyons, Howard Snyder, Tom
Frye and Robert E. Jones. Burial was in Lowry City Cemetery.
Everett Cecil Anders, son of Thomas and Anna Little Anders, was born
March 20, 1904 in Calhoun, Mo. and died suddenly in Hemet, Cal. on
November 28, 1976. He was married to Della Collins in 1921 and the
couple had eight children. One son, Delbert, preceded him in death. He
was employed by Mo. Public Service Co. for 22 years before moving to
California to live. He is survived by 7 children, 12 grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews.
ANDERS, Gladys Nervina Rhoades

Feb. 6, 1899 - June 12, 2003 -
Gladys Nervina Anders, 104, Shawnee, Kansas, died June 12, 2003 after
a short two month stay at Sharon Lane Nursing Home. She was born
February 6, 1899, in Atlanta, Missouri, the daughter of George
McClellan and Emily Rose (Stark) Rhoades. When Gladys was in the ninth
grade she and some classmates were walking to school when they met a
man with a team of horses and a grain filled wagon. He was introduced
to her as Homer Anders. On April 19, 1922, she married Homer Anders in
Butler, Missouri. Mrs. Anders was a homemaker which included being a
gardener, canning vegetables, fruit and meat; raising and hatching
chickens, quilting, crocheting and tatting. She delivered several
babies and served as a midwife, as did her mother before her. Her
community activities included substitute teaching and play directing
for the Literary Club. She was also a Sunday school teacher and
principal of summer Bible school. She was a lifelong Missouri resident
spending most of her years on a farm south of Appleton City. Gladys
lived in Butler, Missouri for ten years. She resided with her daughter
in Kansas City for ten years before having to enter Sharon Lane on
April 17, 2003. Preceding her in death were her husband, Homer, in
1978; a son Joe Kenneth (at age 5); an infant granddaughter Cathy; a
granddaughter Betty Lea Richardson; two brothers, Charlie Rhoades and
Art Rhoades; and two sisters, Marita Rhodes and Irene Hammer.
Surviving are a daughter, Leona M. Russell, Shawnee, Kansas; a son,
Elton E. Anders, Nevada, Missouri; 4 grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
ANDERSON, Charles Sam

Charles Sam Anderson was born September 12, 1939 in Roscoe, to Ralph
Duke and Vada Rea Baldwin Anderson. He passed away Sunday, August 29,
1993 at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center in Columbia. Sam was
a long time resident of Kansas City, Kansas. He was employed by the
Chrysler Parts Depot in
Kansas City, Kansas for 16 years. The past 12 years Sam had lived in
rural Deepwater. On February 9, 1963 Sam was united in marriage to
Joan K. Eastwood. Sam served in the U.S. Army from 1958 until 1961. He
was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Kansas and
Delaware Lodge #96 AF & AM in Kansas City, Kansas. He was preceded in
death by her daughter, Kristine K. on December 10, 1973, his mother
and father, Vada Rea and Ralph D. Anderson, two brothers, Estill E.
and Russell W. Anderson, one sister, Irene Shelton. Sam is survived by
his wife Joan of the home; three sons, Duke of the home, Len of rural
Deepwater, Rick of Marshfield; one brother, Ralph J. Anderson of
Deepwater; three sisters, Jobelle Huntington of Aurora, Colorado,
Hilda Lihme of Merriam, Kansas and Roberta Sinks of Odessa; two
grandchildren, Scott Anderson and Jessica Anderson and two
step-grandchildren, Mark Anderson and Mike Anderson, other relatives
and friends. Funeral services were Wednesday, September 1, at Kidd's

ANDERSON, Clarence Andy

Lowry Resident Dies Nov. 12 -
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 15, at two o'clock in the
Lowry City Methodist Church for Andy Anderson, who died Sunday, Nov.
12, at Veteran's hospital in Kansas City, where he had been a patient
for a month. His age at death was 69 years, five months and 17 days.
Rev. C. Fay Kessinger officiated at the service, and burial was made
in Lowry City Cemetery under the direction of Goodrich Funeral Home.
Mr. Anderson, son of William and Sarah Ellen Anderson, was born May
26, 1898, at Bethany, Mo. His marriage to Myrtle Christine Ragan occurred
July 13, 1936. Four children were born to the couple.
Mr. Anderson had lived for the past 22 years in Lowry City working
at the carpenter trade. As a young man he had served in the United
States Naval Reserve Force, and had lived at Lee's Summit before moving
to Lowry City.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters.
Survivors his wife; two sons, Clarence Randolf and Robert William;
two daughters, Helen Mae and Janice Marie; three grandsons; five granddaughters;
four brothers and four sisters.
ANDERSON, Dennis John

Dennis John Anderson was born June 26, 1947 in St. Paul, Minnesota to
Roy Tilford and Frances Catherine Weletzke Anderson. He passed away
Feb 16, 1996 at his home in Osceola, MO.
Dennis was a radio repairman and a Vietnam Veteran having served in
the United States Marine Corp.
Funeral services were held Wednesday February 21 at 1:30 p.m. at Fort
Snelling National Cemetery with Laura Solberg officiating.
Casketbearers were Terry Anderson, Bruce Anderson, Ryan Anderson,
Gerald Hess, Matthew Anderson and Lawrence Parker.
Interment was held at the Fort Knelling National Cemetery,
Minneapolis, Minesota.

ANDERSON, George Byron

Mr. George Byron Anderson was born December 9, 1901 in Browning,
Missouri to George W. and Josephine Edens Anderson. He passed away
August 23, 1985 at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, MO at the age of
83 years, 6 months and 14 days.
He was unitd in marriage to Melva Goodin.
George worked as a Dairy Representative for several years. He had
lived in the Dunnegan and Humansville areas before moving to Osceola
area ten years ago.
George is survived by his wife, Mel, of the home, one son, George R.
Anderson of Kansas City, MO and one daughter, Mrs. Sandra Smith, of
ElDorado Springs, MO.
Services were Monday, August 26 at 1 p.m. in the Goodrich Chapel with
Rev. Jack Kiefer officiating. J. A. Hartley was soloist accompanied by
Mrs. Irene Hartley.
Casketbearers were Jim Cochran, John T.Belisle, Archie Redinger, Chet
Powers, Bob Garver and Jim Powell.
Interment in the Pleasant Springs Cemetery.
ANDERSON, James M.

Pioneer Dies - James M. Anderson, pioneer St. Clair county resident, died Wednesday, Jan.
5, at his home near Taberville, following a long period of declining
health. The son of Mr. and Mrs. James Anderson, who were among the
first settlers of that vicinity, he was born on the the old family
homestead, a short distance southeast of Taberville, Oct. 19, 1857,
and it was there that his entire life was spent.
He was over 87 years old.
Mr. Anderson was married to Laura Lemon, Jan. 3, 1896, and they were
the parents of three children. Surviving relatives include his devoted
wife, of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Harvey Prough, Stotesbury, Mo.,
and Mrs. Frances Snider, Appleton City; one son, B.F. Anderson, of the
home; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Potter, Appleton City, and Mrs.
Josephine Aldridge, of near Taberville. He also leaves eighteen
grandchildren.
He was widely known in the community where his life was spent and had
a very wide circle of friends and acquaintances, all of whom esteemed
him highly for his many excellent qualities of citizenship.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Pleasant Grove
Baptist Church, near his home. Burial was in the family lot in the
Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Arrangements by Gwinn-Siders Funeral Home.

Chapel Cemetery for John F. Kennedy Anderson who died Thursday, Dec.
26, 1974.
Rev. Marion Collins officiated at the services with the arrangements

John F. Kennedy [Jack] Anderson, 10, of Route 1, Appleton City, died
in the Ellett Memorial Hospital on Dec. 26, 1974. He was born on June
20, 1964 in Tucson, Arizona.
Survivors include his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Sinks; brothers
and sisters, amy Lea, Kerry Kim and Lila Fay, all of the home; and his
maternal grandmother, Vada R. Anderson.

Mildred June Anderson was born June 19, 1928 in Roscoe to Elmer
Elliott and Eva Lena Bird Elliott. She passed away March 21, 1993 at
her home in Clinton. Mildred was a long time Kansas City, Kansas
resident returning to the Lowry City area in 1962. She had been a
Clinton resident since 1991.
Mildred was united in marriage to Estille Eugene Anderson on February
14, 1945. She is preceded in
death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Joe Elliott, and two
sisters, Hazel Kirk and an infant
sister. Mildred is survived by two brothers, Elmer Elliott, Clinton,
Cleo Elliott, Independence; three
sisters, Ruby Dempsey, Clinton, Jennettia Baker, Clinton, and Annie
Jones, Windsor; many nieces,
nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were
Wednesday, March 25, at Sheldon-Goodrich

Clinton, Mo. - Nellie Victoria Scott Anderson, 85, Roeland Park,
Kansas, died Aug. 8, 1992, at a hospital
in Lawrence. Services will be Tuesday at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel,
Osceola, Mo., burial in Lowry
City, Mo. Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson was born near Wisdom, Mo., and moved to this area in the
early 1930's. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ.
Her husband, Helmer T. Anderson, died in 1972.
Survivors include two daughters, Dr. Carol A. Moddrell, Lawrence, and
Linda Del Greco, Roeland Park;
a brother, Gilbert Scott, Osceola; a sister, Edna Witham, Clinton, Mo;
and five grandchildren.

Ralph J. Anderson, 69, Deepwater, died Monday evening, November 11,
1996, at his home. Mr. Anderson was born in Osceola. He lived in
Weaubleau for many years before moving to Deepwater in 1986. He was an
Army veteran. He is survived by Glenda Simms of Harrisonville, Cathy
Braden of Collins, Johnnie Anderson of Stockton, Patty Collins of
Collins; two sisters, Roberta Sinks of Odessa, and Jo Belle Huntington
of Aurora, Colorado; five stepdaughters, Vickie Cumble of Lowry City,
Becky Emert of Bashore, Ks., Linda Moore of Shawnee, Ks., Donna Duncan
of Shawnee, Ks., Carolyn Kieffaber of LaCygne, Ks.; numerous
grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 14 at the
Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel in Osceola. Burial will be in Kidd's Chapel
Cemetery, Lowry City.
ANDREWS, Anthony

Anthony Andrews, formerly of Osceola, was born Dec. 7, 1930. He passed
away Dec. 5, 1996 in the state of California. He had moved in July
1995 to California.
Mr. Andrews is survived by six children, 11 grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.

Charles E. Anglin, 67, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Saturday,
April 3, 1999 at his home. Funeral services were 1 p.m. Wednesday,
April 7, at Joseph A. Butler & Son Funeral Home, 19th and Minnesota
Ave, Kansas City, Kansas, burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Anglin was born in Kansas City and grew up in Osceola. Most of his
adult life was spent in Kansas City, Kansas. He was retired from BPU.
Mr. Anglin was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the
American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Williams Anglin in
1993 and by his father, Everett Anglin. Mr. Anglin leaves his mother,
Ivy Anglin, Lowry City; two daughters, Pam Mabry, Kansas City, Susan
Keele, Kansas City; two sons Paul Steven Mabry, Kansas City, Charles
David Anglin, Columbia; five grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
ANGLIN, Earl Russell

Earl R. Anglin, 75, Osceola, died Tuesday, April 4, 1995, at the
Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola.
Mr. Anglin was born in Deepwater. He was a longtime Osceola resident
and retired plumber. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a
member of VFW Post # 4197.
He is survived by one brother, Roy Anglin of Pleasant Hill; two
sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Gillespie of Clinton and Mrs. Nellie Shoemaker of
Clinton; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, Arpil 7 at the Sheldon-Goodrich
Chapel in Osceola. Burial will be in
the Osceola Cemetery.
ANGLIN, Earl Russell

Earl R. Anglin -
Earl Russell Anglin was born December 15, 1919 in Deepwater to Samuel
and Mary Ann Poe Anglin. He passed away April 4 at Sac-Osage Hospital
in Osceola.
Earl moved with his family at an early age to the Osceola area. He
attended school in Osceola and was a 1939 graduate of Osceola High
school.
He entered the United States Army in October of 1941 and served
overseas, receiving three Bronze Stars.
After returning from the war, Earl began working for R.A. Bledsoe as a
plumber, an occupation which he continued until shortly before his
death.
"Moe" as he was known, had a wealth of knowledge about the systems,
homes and businesses in and around Osceola. He was the kind of person
people felt comfortable leaving to do the job, knowing it would be
done right. He was fair with everyone and even after he tried to
retire he was so in demand and anxious to help. He will be sadly
missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Mary; two
brothers, Jack and Everett Anglin and one sister Beulah Akers.
Earl is survived by one brother, Roy Anglin of Pleasant Hill, MO; two
sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Gillespie and Mrs. Nellie Shoemaker, both of
Clinton, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were Friday, April 7, 2 p.m. at the Sheldon-Goodrich
Chapel with Rev. Mary Biesemeyer officiating.
Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Hartley
Casketbearers were Flavil Baxter, Brett Shelby, Buster Gillespie,
Robert Gillespie, Walter Behee, Bernard Cone, Randy Shulce, Charles

Ivy Bell Anglin, 87, passed away May 5, 2000 in Providence Hospital,
Kansas City, Kansas. She had been living in Lowry City, MO.
Before retiring, Ivy was employed by Sac-Osage Hospital and worked in
the Housekeeping Department.
Graveside services were observed at Benton Green Cemetery, Roscoe,
under the arrangements of Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.

Chris Arduser, 53, Osceola, died Saturday, November 18, 2000, at his
home. He was an ironworker for 24 years, retiring in 1990. He is
survived by his father, Junior C. Arduser, and his sister, Mrs. Becky

Dell H. Arduser, 76, Osceola, a retired ironworker, died Tuesday,
October 29, 2002, at Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola. Funeral services
will be Saturday, November 9, at the Osceola Community Church.

ARDUSER, Robert Edwin

Robert Edwin Arduser was born October 10, 1920 in Belden, Nebraska, to
Mathias E. and Edna Belle Whipple Arduser. He died December 24, 1996,
at the Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola. Robert
graduated from Pierce High School in Pierce, Nebraska in 1937. After
graduation he attended college prep
courses and farmed. On August 28, 1942, Robert enlisted in the Army
and served nearly four years.
While in the Army his family moved from Nebraska to the farm on
Weaubleau Creek in Osceola. After
returning from the Army, Robert farmed with his family out on
Weaubleau Creek until he went to work for the
Iron Workers in Kansas City from 1952 through 1964. While working on
the farm Robert played city baseball in Osceola. On December 6, 1958,
Robert was united in marriage to Theresa Margerite Prike. They raised
four children. He went to work with the Post Office as a rural carrier
in 1964 and retired in April of 1988. While his children were growing
up Robert was active in the PTA and Little League, Babe Ruth and girls
softball. He served on the board of the church building committee, he
was a member of the Ironworkers
Local #10 for 12 years, a member of the Optimist Club, was a city
alderman, a member of the VFW, a member of the Grace United Methodist
Church and an active member of the morning coffee group. He enjoyed
spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid duck hunter
and fisherman. He especially enjoyed playing golf, playing bridge,
watching the Kansas City Royals baseball team, the University of
Nebraska and Kansas City Chiefs football teams. Robert was preceded in
death by his parents, Mathias E. Arduser and Edna B. Arduser; two
brothers, John Weldon Arduser and Dale Leroy Arduser and twin siblings
in infancy. He is survived by his wife Theresa of the home; a son
Robert Frank Arduser of Walker; a daughter Cassandra (Casey) Marie
McCauley of Brandywine; a son Edwin Matthias Arduser of Raytown; a son
Mark Douglas Arduser of Osceola; seven grandchildren, Robert Dale
Arduser, Stephen Mark Arduser, Melonie Marie Arduser, Jessica Roxanne
Arduser, Shane Mathias McCauley, Chelsea Lea McCauley and Matthias
Christian Arduser; one great-grandchild, Logan Tyler Arduser; one
sister Betty Liewer of Osmond, Nebraska; two brothers, J. C. Arduser
and Dell Arduser, both of Osceola; many cousins nephews, nieces and a
host of friends. Funeral services were Sunday, December 29, at the
Grace United Methodist Church. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial

Joel A. Arrington, 87, Collins, passed away Monday, March 17, 2008, at
St. John's Health System in
Springfield.
Mr. Arrington was a longtime Collins area resident and a veteran of

Joel Anderson Arrington was born on January 12, 1921 in McIntyre,
Georgia to Albert and Bertha [Stinson]
Arrington and passed away on March 17, 2008 at St. John's Hospital in
Springfield, Missouri.
On August 11, 1944, Joel was united in marriage to Edith L. Holleman
inSpringfield, Missouri and to this
union, four sons were born. He actively served in the United States
air Force from 1942 to 1951. His last
tour was in Tachikawa, Japan. In 1949 his family joined him and while
they were there, his son Raymond
was born. After returning to the U.S., he was stationed in California
for a year before returning to the Kansas City area. He lived and
worked in Kansas City for TWA at the Richards-Gebaur Base.
Joel retired from the Air Force Reserves in 1971 and moved to the farm
in 1972.. He enjoyed working in his
garden, raising pink gourmet tomatoes, cutting wood, fishing,
especially catching crappie and catfish and
deer hunging with his sons and grandsons.
Joel was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Frances,
Louella and Floried and brothers, Stinson and
Robert.
Joel is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edith, one sister Mildred
Smith and three sons, Rick Arrington
and wife Teresa, Bob Arrington and his wife Clarinda and Ray Arrington
and his wife Rosalyn. Six
grandchildren, Deanne Sharpless, Dan Arrington, Robby Arrington, Rusty
Arrington, Wiliam Arrington and Jessica Arrington, three great
grandchildren, Grace Sharpless, Lauren Sharpless and Madyson
Arrington; other relatives and many friends.
Services were Saturday, March 22 at Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel with Greg
Mangum officiating.
Musical selections were "I'm Gonna Miss Her", "ElPaso", "Lord You gave
Me A Mountain" and "I Walk
Alone".
Casketbearers were Robby Arrington, Rusty Arrington, Deanne Sharpless,
Dan Arrington, William Arrington and Jessica Arrington.
Interment was in the Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of
Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola, MO.
ARWOOD, Mary C. Mott
Mary C. Arwood, daughter of Charles Thomas and Vallie D. Mott, was
born March 10, 1925 in the “great state” of Texas where she and her
sisters Charlye and Joy and brother Bob were raised. Following her
senior year in school Mary and her best friend Wanda June, went to San
Diego, California where Mary met Jesse A. Arwood Jr. They were joined
in marriage on June 16, 1944 and to this union two children were born.
Mary and Jesse settled in Missouri after World War II. They lived most
of their lives in Warrensburg. However they had a four-year jot in
Texas in the 50’s and a ten-year Dallas-Tulsa adventure in the 80’s.
They retired in Leeton, Missouri. In 1995 Mary and Jesse moved to
Appleton City where they remained the rest of their lives.
As a child, Mary was an excellent basketball player and was a member
of her school’s team. She was a fabulous cook and owned and operated
three restaurants in her lifetime. She enjoyed fishing and “junking”
and dealt in antiques and collectibles for over 40 years. Her shops in
Warrensburg offered antique linens and rare and unusual items. Her
favorite thing was searching for them with her family and special
friends. She and Jess were members of the First Christian Church in
Warrensburg, Missouri.
Preceding Mary in death were her parents, her husband, one sister Joy
Hebert and one brother Bob Mott. Survivors include her two children
Pamela J. Arwood and Randy J. Arwood and wife Wendy all of Appleton
City; one sister Charlye D. Becker of Largo Florida; one
step-granddaughter Amie Neal of Appleton City and one grandson, Kyle
Arwood of Appleton City. --
Note: Mary died 9 May 2006 and was buried 12 May 2006. Interment in
Appleton City Cemetery with services conducted by Hill & Son Funeral

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 5 at the Norfleet Baptist
Church in Raytown. Burial will be in the Landaker Cemetery, Lowry
city.

Julie Gene Ash was born May 30, 1970 in Kansas City to Larry Ash, Sr.
and Karen Jones Ash. She passed away on June 1, 2008 at her home in
raymore.
Julie was preceded in death by her father, Larry Ash, Sr.
Julie is survived by her son, Travis Ogle, of the home, her mother,
Karen Ash and a brother, Larry Ash, Jr., both of Lowry City, one
sister, Debbie Underwood of Corder, grandparents Larry and Faye Wright
of Lees Summit, four nephews, one niece and numerous other family
members and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 5 at the Norfleet Baptist
Church in Raytown. Officiated by Reverend Marty Stump.
Burial was in the Landaker Cemetery, Lowry City, Missouri.
Music selections included "Amazing Grace", "In the Garden" and "In the
Arms of an Angel".
Casketbearers included Chris Ogle, Jim McLaughlin, Ray Barber, Eddie
Cowan, Josh Ash and Pat Lineback.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral

Beverly Ashlock was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Boone, Iowa, to Collin Hap
Tolliver and Flora Mae Hoover. She passed away on April 23, 2005, at
Providence Hospital in Wyandotte County, Kan. She was united in
marriage to Jim Ashlock on Dec. 19, 1953. To this union two children,
Richard Wayne Ashlock and Connie Pearson were born. Her parents Hap
and Bess Tolliver of Osceola preceded her in death. She is survived by
her husband, Jim of Lancing, Kans., her two children, Wayne and Connie
of California; two brothers, Jack Tolliver and his wife, Dee of
Osceola and Roger Tolliver and his wife, Laura of Leavenworth, Kan.;
one sister, Nola Gonzales of Leavenworth, Kan.; three grandchildren;
four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was cremated
under the direction of the Cremation society of Kansas. A memorial
service is planned for 10 a.m. on May 7 at the First Christian Church
of Osceola of which she was a member.

ATCHISON, Mary Martisha Sloan

Mary M. Atchison, 86, Lowry City, died at Golden Valley Hospital in
Clinton, January 13, 1998. Mary was born January 6, 1912, in St.
Charles, Iowa, to Will Giltner Sloan and Jennie Jane (Baumgardoner)
Sloan. She was united in marriage to Perry Latin Atchison on August
6, 1930, in Warrensburg. To this union five children were born, Will
Alonzo, Perry Dale, Charles Samuel, Gerald Richard and Mary Jane. Mary
and Perry's first home was a farm in the Chalk Level area, where they
lived for the next eight years. They then moved to Taberville and
co-owned (with her parents) a general grocery store. After selling the
store they moved to a farm west of Lowry City and lived there for the
next 36 years. In 1977 Mary and Perry sold the farm and
purchased their present home in Lowry City. Mary was a member of the
United Methodist Church of Lowry City for many years. During their 58
years of married life, Mary was the mainstay of the home, keeping the
family of five children happy and growing. She always raised a huge
garden and for many years baked all their own bread. She taught her
four sons and one daughter to be
good cooks and be able to do all the work required on a farm. Mary
helped organize the Community Women's Progressive Farm Association
Club, which was active for many years. Mary's survivors include three
sons, Perry Dale and wife Mary of Lowry City, Charles Samuel and wife
Oleta of Grandview, and Gerald Richard and wife Dixie of Clinton; one
daughter Mary Jane of
Springfield, and one daughter-in-law, Penny Spicer Atchison of
Raytown; 10 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law Jack L. Atchison, and nieces
and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Perry L.
Atchison in 1989; her sister Carrie Lacy, and her brother-in-law
Richard Lacy, and a son-in-law Kenneth Wombles and her parents. Mary
will be remembered by friends and family as a very gracious and loving
mom, grandma and
great-grandma and friend. She will always be in our hearts and
wonderful memories.
ATCHISON, Perry Latin

Perry Latin Atchison was born Aug. 6, 1909 near Alton, Missouri to
Alonza and Narcia Atchison. He passed away Jan. 9, 1989 at Golden
Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton at 79 years, 5 months and 3 days
of age. On Aug. 6, 1930 Perry was united in marriage to Mary M. Sloan
at Warrensburg. To this union five children were born. Perry and Mary
spent the first eight years of their married life on a farm near Chalk
Level before moving to Taberville to run a general store with W. G.
Sloan, his in-laws. While in Taberville, Perry became a Master Mason
at Star Lodge 419. This began Association with the Freemasons that
lasted over 50 years. Perry transferred his membership to Lowry City
Masonic Lodge 403 after moving in the Lowry City area in 1942. He
served as secretary of his Lodge for many years. He served as Master
of the Lodge in 1970 and
1971 also served as District Deputy Grand Master of the 37th Masonic
District. Perry was also a trustee of his lodge for many years. The
Atchisons lived on their farm west of Lowry City for 35 years before
moving into Lowry City in 1977. Perry sold MFA Insurance from 1944
until 1975, was manager of the MFA Elevator from 1943 until 1961, and
worked at the Lowry City Bank from 1961 until 968. He was preceded in
death by his parents, one brother, Samuel, and one son-in-law, Kenneth
Wombles. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; four sons,
Will A. Atchison of Raytown, Perry Dale Atchison, Lowry City, Charles
Samuel Atchison, Kansas City, and Gerald Richard Atchison, Clinton;
one daughter, Mary Jane Lightle of Lowry City; four daughters-in-law,
Penny, Mary, Oleta, Dixie; one brother, Jack Atchison, lndependence;
three sisters-in-law, 12 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other
relatives and many, many friends. Funeral services were Thursday, Jan.
12, at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel. Masonic services by Lowry City
Lodge on Jan. 11, at the chapel. Internment was in the Lowry City
Cemetery.
ATKINS, Clifford Frederick

Clifford Frederick "Fred" Atkins was born February 17, 1938, at the
home of his grandparents, Ben and Lea Crowder Atkins of Deepwater, to
Henry and Violet Crowder Atkins. He passed away October 19, 2006 at
Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola, Mo.
Fred served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1964. After his discharge
from the Army he worked as a truck driver for 18 years. He moved to
Tulsa, Okla., in 1974. He had six children.
Fred met his current wife in 1983 and they married in April 1985. They
moved to Tampa, Fla., in 1987 and back to Brownington in 1995 where he
resided until his death.
He was preceded in death by his mother and two great grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his wife, Donna, of the home; six children; six
step-children; his father, Henry Atkins; a multitude of grandchildren
and great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Final disposition was cremation under the direction of
Sheldon-Goodrich Osceola.

August 22, 2001, at her home. Funeral

Church, with burial in Lowry City Cemetery. She was born July 4, 1927,
in Galena, Kansas. She was a resident of Overland Park, Kansas, from
October 1967 until August 1984, when she and her husband retired to
Bella Vista, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. James R. Pulley; her
mother, Alice Pulley, and her brother, James E. Pulley.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lee Austin; three
daughters, Linda Wostrel and her husband, Bill, Jancie Langton and her
husband, Steven, both of Overland Park, Kansas, and Debbie Endecott of
Rogers, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Laurie Dearing and her husband,
Shawn, Leesa Wostrel, Marlo and Chad

Ronald was born July 1, 1936 in Versailles, Mo., the son of Mason
Franklin and Lela Verda (Crane) Ayres. He married Patricia Joyce Lyon
on June 7, 1958 in Miami, OK. Ronald worked for the Leeds Plant from
October 27, 1955 until retiring in April 1, 1987. He was a member of
the UAW and was also a committeeman of the union. He was a carpenter
and enjoyed woodworking. He was also a knife sharpener. He enjoyed
fly-fishing and was an expert at fly tying. He had been a tamale
vendor. Ronald was an elephant handler and also boarded horses for the
Kansas City Zoo.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Bud, his wife, Patricia
and one great-grandchild, Cheslie Anderson. He is survived by three
sons, Russell Ayres and his wife, Karen, Creighton, Mo., John Ayres,
Freeman, Mo., and Alan Ayres, Cleveland, Mo.; one daughter, Kim Jump
and her husband, Mike, Bolivar, Mo.; his mother, Lela Ayres, Bolivar,
Mo.; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and many aunts, uncles,
