Lowry City Quasquicentennial 1871-1996
The first Landaker School was located approximately
one mile south of Landaker cemetery in section 22. A
primitive building was constructed from native
products, clay, rocks, etc which were formed into
building blocks. It faced west and four windows were
on the south wall. It was surrounded mostly by timber
and only a small cleared area served as a playground.
The 1916 Tornado destroyed the school building. After
this, a frame building was built in Section 21.
