CHARLES ROBERT MCADAMS - Born July 1, 1907 and departed this life on February 11, 1929, age 21 years, 7 months and 10 days. He was the son of Robert Andrew MCADAMS and Eliza Jane NORTON. Charles was stricken with spinal meningitis February 7th. He only lived five days after being stricken. Charles said a day before he passed away that he was willing to go, for his suffering would all be over then. He had a brother to pass away 10 years ago last June with spinal meningitis, and one sister passed away about four years ago. He leaves mother, father, five sisters, a wife and baby to mourn his departure. Funeral services were held at the parental home, where a large number of relatives, neighbors and friends paid their last respects. Interment was made in the Clark Cemetery near Low Wassie. Known siblings of Charles R. INEZ D. MCADAMS - Daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Robert MCADAMS Eliza Jane NORTON of Pike Creek Township, died from the effects of an operation at a hospital in St. Louis the first of this week. She was buried Wednesday morning at Clark graveyard near Low Wassie. She was about 21 years of age. ERNEST MCADAMS - At his home three miles northeast of Winona on Friday, June 28 after an illness of ninety two days, Ernest McAdams passed away from this life. Ernest was stricken with meningitis while working near Kansas City. He was taken to a Kansas City hospital and remained there some six weeks for treatment, when it was thought he was able to be brought home. Arriving home it was as though he had vitality enough to survive but time proved otherwise and he departed this life on June 28. He was on the verge of manhood, being twenty years and eight months old, and was a young man of splendid character and good judgment and would have undoubtedly made a useful man. The best of attention and medical aid was given him but to no avail. He was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. McAdams, and grandson of ex-Judge Jno. P. Norton. The remains were laid to rest in the Clark Cemetery near Low Wassie Sunday. ROBERT ANDREW MCADAMS - Who passed away at his home on Sycamore last Saturday afternoon, was born March 24, 1860. On January 20, 1890, Mr. MCADAMS was united in marriage with Miss Eliza NORTON. To them were born nine children, five of whom have preceded their father in death. Fifteen years ago he professed faith in Christ and united with the Baptist Church. To the faith of his church he remained true until death. Mr. MCADAMS had been weakened by old age during the past few years, and for several months prior to his death was sorely afflicted with much illness and suffering. His many friends of this section knew the deceased as an example of honesty, truthfulness and fairness toward all his fellow creatures. He was generous in giving of his time and ability for helping to improve the conditions of education and general good in his community and among his neighbors. The immediate family left to mourn Mr. MCADAMS’ departure include his wife, Mrs. R. A. MCADAMS, and daughters, Mrs. Edna FOUTS, Mrs. John DICKERSON, and Miss Evelyn MCADAMS, all of Winona, and Miss Anna Lee MCADAMS of St. Louis. Burial was made at the Clark Cemetery Sunday afternoon with Rev. D. B. NOWELS in charge of the funeral service. CASSIE BELLE NORRIS MCAFEE - Born May 20, 1902 at Fremont, Missouri to Ulysses Grant Norris and Mary Frances Hampton Norris. She passed away July 1, 2006 at Mountain View, Missouri at the age of 104 years, 1 month and 11 days. She was united in marriage to Homer Michael McAfee on April 17, 1920 in Fremont, Missouri and to this union six children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Bessie Akers; one grandson Michael Kent; one great grandson, Jason Cooper; two sisters, Elsie Dixon and Stella Norris; and one brother James Norris. She is survived by two sons Herb McAfee and wife Reva and Paul McAfee and wife Evelyn all of Birch Tree, Missouri; three daughters Goldie Vermillion of Mountain View, Missouri; Treesa Baker and husband Bert of Kansas City, Missouri; and Christal Taber and husband Bob of Mountain View, Missouri; one sister, Ruby Adams of Birch Tree, Missouri; 22 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 38 great-great grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. Cassie loved to garden and she loved to cook for her family and friends. She is lovingly remembered as 'Ms. Hospitality', always making sure everyone was taken care of. She loved her children and her grandchildren. She had raised her children, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren and was working with the rest of the great great grandchildren. She loved to go to yard sales and shopping at Wal-Mart until her health prevented her from getting out. Cassie loved music and always enjoyed listening to everyone sing. Cassie was a devout Christian. She was a member of the New Testament Church of Jesus Christ, where she attended until her health declined. Cassie moved to the Mountain View Healthcare in February 2006. She was crowned the 2006 Queen of Mountain View Healthcare at the age of 104 years. Cassie will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at 1pm at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Winona, Missouri with Rev. Scott Stroup and Rev. M.Y. Bennett officiating. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Birch Tree, Missouri under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home in Winona, Missouri.

Larry WAYNE McAfee - Son of Kenneth Dale McAfee & Mae McBride, was born May 15, 1951, and departed this life on May 25, 1980 as the result of a car accident at the age of 29 years old. He is survived by his mother and step father Mae and Glen Bradshaw of Birch Tree MO. He was the brother of Jerry Dale McAfee and Betty Sue McAfee (Mrs. Paul L. Murphy, Sr.)  He was the grandson of George Wallace McAfee & Fannie Corder, and Harold McBride & Mary Frances Broadfoot. Services were held May 27, 1980 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View MO. Rev. Golden Hampton officiating. MARGARET LUCILLE WEAVER MCALISTER 15 Oct 1932 - 08 Sep 2011		Margaret Lucille Weaver McAlister was born October 15, 1932 at Willow Springs, Missouri to her parents, Bryan Weaver and Hazel Lucille Busby Weaver. She went to her Heavenly home, Thursday evening September 8, 2011 while surrounded by her family, making her age 78 years 10 months and 19 days.  Lucille was united in marriage to Harold (Hank) Eugene Weaver, May 3, 1947 making their union together 25 years. They were blessed with three daughters, Janice, Melany and Tina. After her husband, Hank, passed away, she then married Clarence McAlister, who brought to the marriage four children, John, Tami, Pam and Lisa. Lucille and Clarence were later divorced. Lucille was employed at Angelica Uniform Factory, then attended college at Southwest Missouri State University (SMS), where she obtained her teaching degree. Lucille worked for many years at Summersville R II Schools, as a teacher and a librarian. She also taught in the Mountain View-Birch Tree School District. She was a faithful member at Midvale Church, then moved to Crane, Missouri where she attended 65 Full Gospel Church with her daughter, Tina.  She loved doing crafts and visiting with family and friends. She was an avid traveler and enjoying her many travels.  Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, Harold (Hank) Weaver; her parents Bryan and Hazel Weaver; three grandsons, Jimmey Haney, Butch Smith, and Heath McAlister; one step-daughter, Pam Tune; and two brothers, Gene Weaver and Alva Leon Weaver. Lucille is survived by her three daughters, Janice Clark and husband, Leonard, of Summersville, Missouri, Melany Kramer and husband, Charles, of Branson, Missouri, Tina Lane and husband, Larry, of Crane, Missouri; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Roberts of Mulberry, Florida; one brother, William Clifton of Cedar Hill, Missouri; step-children, John McAlister, Tami Schulte and Lisa Haeffner and host of nieces, nephews and other family members.  Services will be held Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM with Rev. RALPH J. MCALLISTER, JR. 08 Apr 1927 - 22 Aug 2010		Ralph J. McCallister, Jr. was born April 8th, 1927 near Summersville, Missouri, the son of Ralph N. SR. and Golda J. Foulk McCallister. He departed this life at National Health Care, West Plains, MO on August 22, 2010 at 2:30 A.M., making his age 83 years 4 months. Ralph was united in marriage to Daphne Cooper August 15, 1948 and to this union 2 children were born, David Keith and Linda Kay. Ralph was later married to Bessie Faye Barnes Bryant on August 30, 1971, making their union together 39 years this week. Those left to mourn his passing include his wife Bessie Faye McCallister of the home, his son David Keith McCallister and wife Carolyn of Fort Wayne, Indiana, his daughter Linda Kay McCallister Edmonton of Alberta, Canada, his brother Paul and wife Della McCallister of Houston, MO, his sister Roena and husband Bill Barton of Summersville, MO, 3 nephews and 2 nieces, 3 step-sons, Thurlow and wife Janet Barnes, Carl Ray and wife Carolyn Barnes, and Bob Barnes all of the Summersville area, 2 step-daughters, Wanda and husband Ron Sokol of Houston, Texas, Rhonda and husband Roger Irey of Leesville, Louisiana, and numerous step-grandchildren, and Jimmy Barnes deceased and his wife and 2 children Jimmy and Jimalea of Springfield, MO. Ralph graduated from Summersville High School Class of 1945 and immediately entered the Army. He served in the European Theater until he was wounded and returned to the Army Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico for rehabilitation. After World War II ended he was discharged and returned to Texas County where he was employed as Deputy Sheriff. He then moved to Houston, Texas where he worked for Shell Oil Company for 20 years. He formed a construction company in Houston, Texas that was later merged with Don Love Construction. He became the General Superintendent and served there until his health problems forced his retirement. He and Bessie Faye then moved back to Summersville. His love of carpentry was the focus of his retirement, volunteering many hours to family, neighbors and friends. Ralph JR accepted Christ as his Savior May 30, 1947 soon after his return from World War II and was baptized into First Baptist Church Summersville, where he served in any area needed as long as his health permitted. Ralph JR loved the Lord and served him faithfully throughout his life. He was a good husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to everyone. Alma Ruth Sutton McBride – Born 22 Dec 1926 at Deslet Shannon Co MO, daughter of Frank Jesse Sutton & Lucille L. 'Lucy' Melton. She passed away 07 Nov 1991 at Winona Shannon Co MO. On 03 May 1947 she married James Henry 'Pete' McBride, son of Marion Summerville McBride & Minnie Marcella Williams, and to this union two children were born, Judy Ann and Randall James McBride.  Funeral services and mass were conducted at St. Sylvester Catholic Church at Eminence Shannon Co MO. Cremains were interred at Munsell Cemetery in Shannon Co MO.

Claude Leroy McBride - Born April 18, 1930 at Pine Hollow near Birch Tree, MO the son of Marion Summersville McBride and Minnie (Williams) McBride. He passed away January 11, 2009 in Eminence, MO at the age of 78 years. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Stevens on February 24, 1951 in Mountain Home, AR and to this union seven children  were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mary Lou; one son Steven McBride; four brothers Deward Franklin McBride, James 'Pete' McBride, Charles 'Long John' McBride and Elvis 'Harvey' McBride, and one sister Lucille Casteel. He is survived by one son David McBride and wife Becky of Haskell, OK; five daughters Sherry Hoover of Bloomington, IL; Deborah Boshears and husband Vaughn of Dunnegan, MO, Patricia Homer of Lincoln, IL, Jennifer Bates and husband Shawn of Canton, IL and Sarah Crowell and husband Keith of Newburg, MO; 13 grandchildren Toby, Jeffrey, Daniel, Dustin, Mary Jean, Kyle, Christina, Matthew, Stephen, Evan, Alex, Brittany and Louie; 2 great granddaughters and 6 great grandsons. Claude graduated from Birch Tree High School and attended SMS Teacher's College. He taught school in the Cedar Hill District from 1948 until 1951. Claude enlisted in the United States Army on August 17, 1951. He served during the Korean conflict in the 235th Field Artillery Observation Battalion. Claude was awarded the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Campaign star, and the United Nations Service Medal. He was honorably discharged from active duty on August 1, 1953 and was transferred to the Army Reserves where he served until 1959. Claude and Mary Lou moved to Peoria, IL and he began employment with Caterpillar. He retired from Caterpillar as an inspector in 1982 after 30 years of employment. Claude and Mary Lou moved back to their family farm to raise cattle in Pine Hollow after his retirement. In 1994 Claude and Mary Lou moved to Eminence where they lived until their passing. Claude enjoyed hunting deer and turkey. His favorite pastime was gold prospecting. Claude would travel to Alaska, Colorado and Arizona to pursue his hobby. Many times he would be gone for weeks, enduring harsh weather. Although he never struck it rich, he did find gold, and truly enjoyed prospecting. ELLA WAY MCBRIDE - Birch Tree MO., Exchange: Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Way MCBRIDE, 58 years old, who died Dec. 26, were held by the Rev. R.M. HOLMES and burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery. Mrs. MCBRIDE was born in Carthage, Ill., later moving with her family to Kansas where, at Garden City in 1886, she was married to H. N. MCBRIDE. In 1893 the family moved to Oklahoma and in 1905 to Shannon county where they have since resided. She was the daughter of Frank WAY of this county, and a niece of Scott BELKNAP of this city. Mrs. MCBRIDE was the mother of seven children. The surviving relatives are her husband, who is an invalid, and five children, George MCBRIDE, of Wichita, Kans.; Mrs. Claude BURKETT, of Animis, Colo.; Marion MCBRIDE. Mrs. Amos CHANEY and Harold MCBRIDE, of Birch Tree, all of whom were present at the deathbed. Elvis 'Harvey' McBride - Age 81, California MO - Passed away on Monday, August 11, 2008 at St. Mary's Health Center, Jefferson City MO. He was born September 8, 1926 in Birch Tree, MO the son of Marion S. and Minnie Williams McBride both whom preceded him in death. He was married on April 21, 1951 in Washington D.C. to Jean Boehm who survives of the home. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1944 at the age of 17 and served as a Seaman 1st Class and Quartermaster Signalman. He served on the following ships LST 1115, LST 283, LSM 17, APA 228-USS Rockbridge and APA 31-USS Monrovia. He served in both the Pacific and European Theaters. He retired from the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C. in 1981. He was an avid golfer and had a lifelong love of the sport. He was a regular blood donor and a supporter of the local schools. Other survivors include: one daughter, Leslie Powell of California, MO; one brother, Claude LeRoy McBride of Eminence, MO; one grandson, Samuel Powell and his wife Lisa of St. Louis, MO; one brother-in-law, Chuck Casteel of Monroe, LA; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Durward, James Pete, and Charles McBride; and one sister, Lucille Casteel. Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Peter Kurowski. Frances A. WADE McBride - Age 72, Formerly of Tampa, Fl. Died at 11:45 Feb. 19, 1997 at Missouri Delt Medical Center, Sikeston MO. Born Aug. 1 1924 in Birch Tree, daughter of the late Charles H. and Pearl McLaughlin Wade. She was a member of the Morehouse Assembly of God Church. On March 16, 1944 she married Joseph Ernest McBride who preceded her in death, also preceding her was one daughter Arline, one stepson, and 3 brothers Charles, Ivan and Jack Wade. Survivors are 2 sons Charles A. McBride of Tampa, FL., three daughters Catherine Burch, Anita Cannon and Rose L. Eubanks of Sikeston, MO, 3 stepsons Paul McBride of FL., Luther of Naples, FL. And Arthur of Seffner, FL., one stepdaughter Zodie Campbell of New Madrid MO. two brothers Jim Wade of Rornulus, MI and Oscar Wade of Golden, MO, Five sisters Olive Faulkner, Gertrude Hopkins and Maryetta Martin of Birch Tree, MO, Malissie Mitchel of Mountain. View, MO and Charlene Helfrich of Taylor, MI; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997 at10 am at Nonnelee Funeral Chapel, Sikeston MO. Burial was at 2 pm at Montier Cemetery with Rev. Rick Kriermeyer officiating. James Henry 'Pete' McBride – Born 11 Jun 1922 at Pine Hollow Shannon Co MO, son of Marion Summersville McBride & Minnie Marcella Williams. He passed away 08 Aug 1993 at his home in Winona Shannon Co MO. On 03 May 1947 he married Alma Ruth Sutton McBride, daughter of Frank Jesse Sutton & Lucille L. 'Lucy' Melton, and to this union two children were born, Judith Ann 'Judy' and Randall James 'Randy' McBride.  Pete served in the United States Navy during World War II, and left that service at the rank of MoMM2. He owned the Chevrolet dealership located at Winona. Burial was at Munsell Cemetery in Shannon Co MO. 

Tommy R. 'Tom Cat' McBride - Born September 11, 1967 at Mountain View, MO, the son of Harrison Lee and Retha Louise Watts McBride. He passed away on October 5, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, MO at the age of 40 years. Tommy was united in marriage to Sadie Lamborn on April 2, 1994 at Jacks Fork. Tommy was preceded in death by his grandparents; aunts and uncles; 2 nieces; 2 nephews and 3 cousins. Tommy is survived by his wife, Sadie McBride, of Mountain View, MO; two children, Maryhelen Million of Virden, IL and Travis Million and Mary Burnett of Jacksonville, IL; his parents, Harrison and Retha McBride, of Mountain View, MO; one brother, Tony McBride and wife, Terrie, of Mountain View, MO; one sister, Marry Montague, and husband, Jody, of Mountain View, MO; four nieces and one nephew, Stephanie Atkin McBride, Hannah McBride, Alan Montague, Alisa Montague, and Shyann Montague; six grandchildren, Heather Ransom, Jordan Ransom, Cohen Million, Helena Million, Cadence Million and Halle Million. John Lee McCabe, Sr. - 'Johnny Mac' - Born May 2, 1946 to James McCabe Jr. and Willia Dee Tucker McCabe Conway, at St Louis County Hospital, St Louis MO. He left this life Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at West Vue Nursing Home, West Plains, MO, surrounded by his children. He may have lost the battle in this life but has gained a new life in Heaven. Preceding him in death was his father James McCabe Jr. and his step father Eugene D. Conway.  Survivors include his mother Willia Dee Conway, two brothers, Donald Eugene Conway and Harley Gene Conway, three children, Candra Sharnell McGee and her husband Stacey, Johnny Lee McCabe Jr. and his wife Donna Michelle, James Casey McCabe and his wife Melissa, two grandchildren, Toni Renea Freeman and her husband Thomas, and Evan Matthew Lee McCabe, and two great grandchildren, Rylee BethAnn Freeman and Elijah RyanDale Freeman along with a host of family and friends. Johnny Mac was a jack of all trades, from selling cars to driving a taxi, truck driving, to selling tack at Bullet's tack shop. He was also a trail boss for the trail rides for several years. In his younger days he rode horses in shows and won many trophies as well as earning trophies for showing dogs. He spent many hours with 'the guys' listening to the hounds barking across the holler. He also loved hunting, fishing and camping. He loved spending time with family and friends, who will all miss him very much. Funeral Services were held Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Eminence with Rev. Jeff Fulk officiating. Interment was in Flatwoods Cemetery under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home in Eminence.

Gladys Frances Martin Story McCall - Born Feb. 15, 1920, the daughter of Abe and Daisy (Weaver) Martin. She passed away Dec. 3, 2009, at her daughter’s (Aleda) home in Kansas City, Mo., at the Age of 89 years, 9 months and 3 weeks. Gladys was united in marriage to Frank Edward Story on March 22, 1936, and to this union, six children were born – Aleda, Kenneth, Jimmie, Emma and Esther and one son who died at infancy. After Frank’s death in 1969, she later married Lloyd McCall in 1972. He passed away in 1975. Gladys is survived by her two sons, Kenneth and Wanda Story of Birch Tree, Mo., and Jim and Sharon Story of Centralia, Wash.; three daughters, Aleda and Lawrence Fisher of Kansas City, Mo., Esther and Guy Howard of Blue Springs, Mo., and Emma and Lyle Waller of Montrose, Colo.; one sister, Helen Maxwell of Illinois; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Gladys was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy for many years, where she touched many lives with her service and teaching. After her husband’s death, she moved to County Line near Birch Tree where she attended the County Line Church. She was always a blessing with her singing. Her hobbies were embroidery and crochet work, feeding squirrels and birds and gardening. She loved putting puzzles together and playing board games with her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at the County Line Pentecostal Church in Birch Tree, Mo., with Brother George Nagels and Brother Forrest Goodman officiating. Interment was in Montier Cemetery in Montier, Mo., under the direction of Duncan Funeral Homes, LLC of Birch Tree, Mo.

NICOLE RENEE DOYLE MCCAMMON - Age 23, of Springfield MO., formerly of Hannibal, entered into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at her home in Springfield. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2003, at First Assembly of God Church in Hannibal, conducted by Rev. Gerald BEGLEY. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal MO. Nicole was born February 25, 1980, in St. Louis MO., a daughter of Rev. James and Melinda RAINES DOYLE. She was married to Joseph Aaron MCCAMMON on July 18, 1998. He survives. Other survivors include her parents, of Eminence, MO, a sister, Carrie MCMILLEN of West Plains, MO, two brothers, Nathan DOYLE of West Plains, and Jared DOYLE of Eminence; grandparents, Dorothy and Thomas JOHNSON of Kevil, Kentucky; mother and father-in-law Jeannie and Ron MCCAMMON of Hannibal. MARY ALICE BARNES WEAVER COOLEY MCCARTHY - Daughter of John BARNES and Martha ALLMON BARNES, was born January 1, 1883 in Oregon Co MO and departed this life October 14, 1971 at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 13 days. She spent her entire life in and near Winona Shannon Co MO. She married 1 George Henry WEAVER and their daughter was Grace, who married Max PARKE. She married 2 Runa COOLEY; their children were Willie and Pearl, who died in infancy; Minnie Mae, married Otto Irvin BARRETT; and Myrtle Margaret, who married Archer C. GARDNER. She was married a third time to Mr. MCCARTHY. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and made her daily life a testimony of her Christian faith. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She leaves to mourn her passing four children, Mrs. Minnie BARRETT, and Mrs. Myrtle GARDNER of Winona; Mrs. Grace PARKE of West Plains, and Mr. Goldman WEAVER of Eager, AZ; 9 grandchildren, 4 sisters and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 16, 1971 at the Methodist Church in Winona with Rev. Gerald Bruner and Rev. John Thomas officiating. Burial was in Pine Lawn Cemetery with funeral arrangements under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Winona. 

YVONNE J. 'CRICKET' YARDLEY MCCLURG - Born July 5, 1937 in Winona , MO to the late Bob YARDLEY and Mabel PYEATT, and departed this life on May 11, 2007. On November 27, 1959 she married the love of her life and her best friend, Lynn E. MCCLURG.. To this union they loved and raised three children, Lynn A., Christina and Bob. CLETUS BILL MCCURRY - Born September 3, 1952, at St. Louis, MO the son of Melton Martin and Edna Rutledge Touhill and passed away Saturday, February 18, 1989 at Hazelwood, Missouri at the age of 36.  He was adopted by Billy Paul McCurry at the age of 10 years, and is survived by his parents, one maternal grandmother, Elsie A. Rutledge, of Birch Tree, MO; his fiancée, Deborah Smith of Florissant, MO; one daughter, Jennifer Leigh McCurry, of Webster Grove, MO; three sisters, Isabella Clark of Van Buren, MO; Marcella Williams of Florissant, MO; Avanell Van Winkle of Winona, MO; two brothers, Jake and Bobby Martin of Winona MO. Funeral services were held 10 am Wednesday, February 22, at the First Baptist Church of Birch Tree with Rev. Truman Pulliam officiating. Burial was in Oak Forrest Cemetery under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Birch Tree. 

Roger A. McDermith - Son of Dr. D. J. McDermith 'Doc' and Mary Jane (Harbert) McDermith 'Janie' was born November 12, 1956 in Pana, IL. Roger left this world on October 27, 2006 at his home in Vandalia, IL, at age, 49 years, 11 months, and 15 days. Roger married Paula Jo Warner in 1972 in Missouri. Paula preceded Roger in death on October 12, 1973. Roger is preceded in death by his wife, Paula, his mother, Mary Jane 'Janie' McDermith; his son, Dustin; two brothers, Monte and Scott, and one sister, Carol. He is survived by his father, Dr. D.J. McDermith 'Doc' and wife, Barkha, of Summersville, MO; three nieces, Joni Herrin and Rhianna Bannick of Effingham, IL, and Jessi McDermith of Vandalia, IL; several great nephews and nieces, and special friends, Steve and Kena Runkel and Marlene Page, all of Vandalia, IL. Roger was a former trucker and construction worker before becoming the owner/operator of McDermith Angus Farms. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ramsey, IL. ETHEL MARIE STARK MCDONALD 10 Aug 1925 - 14 Oct 2011

Ethel Marie McDonald was born on August 10, 1925 in Midco, MO, the daughter of Charles Albert Stark and Martha Elizabeth (Hart) Stark. She passed away on October 14, 2011 in Birch Tree, MO at the age of 86 years. She was united in marriage to Euel Utah McDonald on February 21, 1942 at Winona MO, and to this union five children were born. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Martha Stark; husband Euel McDonald; three sisters, Elva Myers, Jean Weaver and Daisy Mooney; and one son-in-law, Bobby Weaver. She is survived by three sons, Douglas Euel McDonald and wife, Charlotte, of Munsford, TN, Tommy Lane McDonald and Janelle of Dallas, TX, and Richard Bruce McDonald and wife, Charlotte, of Republic, MO; two daughters, Linda Gale Weaver of Winona, MO, and Sandra Dawn Ipock and husband, Randy, of Winona, MO; two sisters, Ellen Link of Winona, MO and Pauline Smith of Birch Tree, MO; 12 grandchildren, Douglas McDonald, Jr., Troy McDonald, T.J. McDonald, Bryan McDonald, Kristene McDonald, Todd McDonald, Trent Weaver, Nicole Hays, Jessica Glover, Charles McDonald, Randall Ipock and Adam Ipock; 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.  Ethel was a member of the First Baptist Church in Birch Tree, MO and also attended Calvary Baptist Church in Winona, MO for many years. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed her time sewing. Ethel enjoyed traveling with her family while her husband was in the military, but one of her greatest accomplishments was when she moved by herself with (4) four children and their dog to Misawa Air Force Base Japan, where her husband was stationed. Larry Lee McEwen - Union, Missouri was born July 17, 1939 in Union, son of the late Gussie McEwen and wife, Jewell West. He passed away Monday, December 10, 2007 in Washington, Missouri at the age of 68 years. He received his schooling in Union. On May 28, 1960, Larry was united in marriage to Barbara Gay Hunt and his three children were born to this marriage. On December 5, 1981, Larry was united in marriage to Shirley Koch and they made their home in Union, Missouri. He was employed as an Iron Worker for 32 years. Larry was retired from Iron Worker's Union Local #396. Larry was an active member of Union Masonic Lodge #593. He loved to visit with folks at the local coffee shops and hunt the hills of the Ozarks with family. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Victor McEwen and one sister, Aileen Pendleton. Larry is survived by his wife, Shirley McEwen of Union; two sons, Kevin McEwen and wife, Cynthia, of Mountain View, Missouri and James McEwen and wife, Brenda, of Washington, Missouri; one daughter, Natalie Grover and husband, Randy, of Mountain View, Missouri; ten grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at the Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, Missouri with Rev. Hugh McNary officiating. HARRY C. MCGHEE - (Feb. 16, 1885 - Apr., 1964) -  Funeral services for Harry C. McGee, 79, formerly of 1046 South Crutcher, were held Thursday in Winona Christian Church at Winona. Burial was in Pine Lawn Cemetery under direction of Duncan of Mountain View.  Mr. McGee died Thursday at Mercy Villa after a lingering illness. He had lived at Winona for 40 years before moving to Springfield.  Survivors are his wife, Edith, and a son, Eugene, of 1208 West University.

WILLIAM FRANKLIN 'FRANK' MCHENRY - Son of Robert Bob A. McHenry and Amanda Mills McHenry, was born May 2, 1909, in Bartlett Township, Shannon County, Missouri.  He departed this life Saturday, August 28, 1982, at 9:00 p.m. in West Plains Memorial Hospital at the age of 73 years, 3 months, and 26 days. He had a good boyhood on the farm where he was born, which has been in the family over 125 years.  He went to Woodland School all eight grades, with the late Mr. Chester Spencer for his teacher.  He attended Birch Tree High School and was a well-read man. On December 13, 1928 he and Sarah Eva Donahue were united in Holy Matrimony at Eminence.  Their home was blessed with three children: Robert Bob McHenry, Thelma Lou Rutledge, and William Bill Don McHenry.  His heart was broken when he lost his daughter, Thelma Lou, on June 5, 1977.  Others preceding him in death were his parents, and infant brother, a sister, Bernice Renegar, and a brother-in-law, Luther Connelly. Those left to mourn his passing are his loving wife, Eva, his son, Bob, and wife, Sally, of Independence, his son, Bill Don, and wire, Marie, of Hazelwood, a son-in-law, Earl Rutledge, of Birch Tree, one sister, Bertha Connelly, of St. Charles, a brother-in-law, Wes Renegar, of Miami, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who loved him dearly. He accepted Christ as his own personal Savior and was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Birch Tree.  He and Eva attended there regularly.  His deep faith carried him through his suffering to victory. Frank was a tender hearted person, kind and compassionate, loving his family deeply.  He was a good husband, a loving father, and a wonderful grandfather. In his and Eva's scrapbook, we found where he had written:  'We shall pass through this world but once, therefore, any good I can do, or any kindness I can show to any human being, let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again.'  Frank carried this thought out by being a friend to many people.  Our loss is Heaven's gain. Frank retired a few years  ago from employment with the City of Birch Tree.  He enjoyed nature to the fullest and was a fine gardener, sharing produce with many.  He truly believed, 'This is our Father's world!' Services were held at the Methodist Church in Birch Tree, August 31, 1982 at 1:00 p.m.  Those officiating were Rev. Bill Ogden, Rev. Jim Kabler and Dr. K.J. O'Banion.  Robert, Joe, Junior DePriest, Vera Mae Hitt and Colleen Detwiler, with Terry Morrow at the piano, sang, 'Precious Memories', 'Beyond the Sunset', and 'Oh Happy Day'. Pallbearers were Clinton Sanders, Glen Bockman, Butch Myers, Ruel Thompson, Leroy Powell and Bill Reed.  Interment was in Oak Forest Cemetery under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home. 

JOSEPH W. 'JOE' MCINTIRE (MCENTIRE) - The Current Wave – October 30, 1913 - Akers News …We are sorry to announce the death of our esteemed fellow citizen, J. W. McEntire, who died on October 14th, after a long illness from Bright’s Disease. He was buried at Akers Cemetery on the 15th. His funeral was conducted by the Odd Fellows and was attended by a large crowd of people.

Joseph W. McIntire (06 Nov 1868 - 14 Oct 1913) Son of Homer Jennings McIntire & Mary Cross. Born in Georgia. Married Parazida Stringer 09 Feb 1890 in Shannon Co MO.  Their children are believed to be Louis ‘Lee’ McIntire; Pinkerton Bridgeton McIntire; Leonard  McIntire; Wesley McIntire; Bazil B. ‘Bozie’ McIntire and Pearl McIntire. NOTE: Some records conflict. Leonard and Wesley could be one and the same person. Bazil died in St Louis in 1945 of liver cancer after serving in the Army in WWII. Nothing is found on Pinkerton after 1925 where a B. P. McIntire was found in Wichita KS.

WESLEY RYAN MCINTIRE - Born March 25, 1980 in West Plains MO to Jane NOAH and Terry MCINTIRE. He departed this life on August 3, 2005 at the age of 25. He was baptized on January 11, 1987. Wesley’s strong faith in God allowed him to live each day to the fullest. He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Gordon MCINTIRE, and an uncle, Charles NOAH. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate, Holly Leigh MORGAN MCINTIRE; his devoted mother, Jane, and stepfather, Richard BLAKE; two brothers, Jason MCINTIRE and Charlie BLAKE; grandparents, Russell and Sue NOAH; grandmother, Betty MCINTIRE; a precious nephew, Noah Ryan MCINTIRE; one sister- in-law, Roxanne MCINTIRE, and niece Madison, and nephew, Caron; mother and father-in-law, Robin and Chris BREWER; father-in-law, Rick MORGAN; his faithful friend. Rowdy T. ‘DOG’ and a host of cousins, family and friends. Wesley, brother Jason, and Mama Jane moved to Eminence to live with his Granny Sue and Granddad Russ, where he grew up. Richard ‘Pappy’ married his mom, and with him he got to experience hunting, raising dogs and continued love of the outdoors. When little brother Charlie came along, Wes was thrilled, and took such pride in being a loving brother and role model. Wesley and his brother, Jason, shared a lifetime of companionship as brothers. Jason’s son, Noah Ryan MCINTIRE, was Wes’s pride and joy. Wes and Holly were united in marriage on June 4, 2005 at Alley Spring MO. They shared a lifetime of happiness in a short period of time. It is impossible to put into words what they shared. Barbecuing, riding in the woods, or simply just being attached at the hip, were things that they loved the most. Most of their nights were spent sleeping on a mattress in the middle of their living room floor watching their big- screen TV.. It was truly God’s work that brought them together. It is with that faith that they realized they will be together again in Heaven one day. Wes attended Eminence schools and graduated in 1998. He enrolled at Jefferson College in Hillsboro MO and then went on to Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield MO before his acceptance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Pharmacy School. He was a member of the Pharmaceutical Fraternity Kappa Psi. He took great pride in the field of pharmacy. Wesley’s zest for life was apparent to every life he touched. He was unselfish and caring about his fellow man and all of God’s creatures. He loved living in Shannon County and took full advantage of the hunting, fishing, and enjoyment of “God’s country”. His favorite place to be was in the middle of the woods. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Baseball was dear to his heart and a big highlight came his senior year in high school when his team went to the State Quarter-Finals. Also a NASCAR fan, Wes got to be an honorary pit-stop tire changer at Bristol. He was so passionate about many things. He really ‘juiced’ all he could out of life. Wes’s philosophy of life was to cherish each day and to give thanks for the continuous blessings that he felt were bestowed on him. He wished for others to “not sweat the small stuff”. He didn’t question God’s plan for his life and never asked “Why me?” If you knew Wesley, then you were truly blessed. He had a gift of making others feel special. The truly lucky ones were his friends and family because he will always be with them. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. God called him Home early because he needed a true Angel to help Him. Visitation was held at Duncan Funeral Home in Eminence MO on Friday evening, August 5 and funeral services were held at the Old Eminence High School Gymnasium at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 6. LOLA GRACE JONES MCIVER - Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert JONES was born November 19, 1896 at Fremont, MO and departed this life November 9, 1951 at the age of 55 years at Low Wassie MO. She had lived a Christian life and was ready to leave this world. She leaves a mother, one brother; three half-brothers and two half-sisters; six aunts; one uncle. PAUL E. MCKEE 06 May 1940 - 12 Jul 2010

Paul E. McKee, 70, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away Monday July 12, 2010, at his residence. He was born May 6, 1940, in Hartshorn, Missouri, son of Russell and Thelma Barton McKee. He attended high school in Summerville, MO where he graduated as his class valedictorian. He went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at the Missouri School of Mines in Rolla MO. On September 10, 1960 he was united in marriage to Norris Cashatt McKee who survives at the home. Paul worked at MODOT as a Civil Engineer in the Highway Department from 1964 until 1994. He was a past member of the Cole County Volunteer Fire Department and the Cole County Emergency Medical First Responders Squad. Over the years he's been a member of First Assembly of God Church and Solid Rock Family Church. He was a member of the Mended Hearts Group at St. Mary's Health Center and volunteered at the Special Learning Center. Paul was a Master Wood Craftsman, where he used his craft to make special therapy toys for disabled children. He was also active with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, woodworking and electronics. He built his first computer in the 70's and taught himself Basic programming at MODOT where they purchased some of their first software from a little known company called Microsoft. He is also survived by his mother Thelma McKee of Summersville, MO; four children Rachel McKee, Jefferson City, Glenda McKee, Jefferson City, Edith McKee, Stanton, MO and Philip McKee Sarah Jefferson City; two sisters Betty Bennett Tony, Jefferson City; Judy Talley Ron, Wright City, MO; one brother Steve McKee Michelle Summersville, MO. Seven grandchildren; Matt, Andre' Stephanie, Mariah, Andrew, Arielle and Chris. Friends will be received from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010, at First Assembly of God Church, where Funeral services will be held at 6:00 with Rev. Lowell Perkins and Rev. OPAL MCBRIDE BRADSHAW MCKENDRY - Born January 11, 1937 to Harold McBride and Mary Broadfoot McBride in Winona, Missouri. She passed away June 4, 2006 at the age of 69 years in Springfield, Missouri. Opal is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Mary McBride, her husband Harry McKendry, one son Robert Bradshaw, one brother Harold McBride, one sister Francis Jones and one great grandchild. Opal leaves behind four sons Calvin Bradshaw and wife Ardel of Georgia; Eugene Bradshaw and wife Nancy of Teresita, Missouri; Melvin Bradshaw and wife Susie of Birch Tree, Missouri and Marvin Bradshaw and wife Kelly of Eureka, Missouri. JAMIE LEE MCKEE - Son of Steve and Michelle Hurt McKee was born at St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, MO, August 16, 1983 and departed this life February 7, 2006 near Summersville making his age 22 years 5 months and 22 days. Jamie graduated from Summersville High School in May 2002. He attended Church of God of Prophecy at Summersville through childhood and his teenage years. He was a member International Union of Operating Engineers Local #513 where he was in his second year of apprenticeship in the school. Jamie is preceded in death by his grandfather Russell Marion McKee. Jamie is survived by his father and mother Steve and Michelle McKee, one brother Cory McKee; his grandparents, Thelma McKee and Jack and Doris Jean Hurt all of Summersville. Jamie enjoyed running heavy equipment, hunting, four wheeling and spending time with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by his many aunts ,uncles, cousin and friends. Services were held on Sunday, Feb. 12th at 2 PM at Midvale Church with Rev. Stacey Prewett and Rev. Emmett Bradford officiating. Gladys Pauline sutton McKinney - Born May 17, 1917 the daughter of Grover Sutton and Sena (Randolph) Sutton. She passed away April 7, 2008 at Birch Tree, MO at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 21 days. She was united in marriage to Frank McKinney on December 26, 1936 at Tucson, AZ, and to this union five children were born. They moved back to Eminence in 1960. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Sena Sutton; her husband, Frank McKinney; two sons, Jerry McKinney and Larry McKinney; two grandsons, Jerry G. McKinney and Mike Jones; and two brothers, Earl Sutton and Layard Sutton. She is survived by one son, Jim McKinney of Granby, CO; two daughters, Jo Jones of Eminence, MO, and Joyce Dixon and husband, Garry, of Cahokia, IL; one brother, Ben Sutton of Winona, MO; one sister, Berniece Powell of Eminence, MO; one daughter-in-law, Connie McKinney of Porter, TX; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Graveside services were held April 9, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Munsell Chapel Cemetery in Eminence, MO with Rev. David Fowler officiating under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home in Eminence MO.

Edward D. McNail - Funeral service was January 18, 2009 at James & Gahr Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Pastor Ted Wisdom officiating. Favorite recorded music was played. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Centerville, with Full Military Honors provided by the Salem American Legion Post #99 honor guard. Pallbearers were Ronnie McNail, Richard McNail, Carl McNail, Marvin McNail, Tom McNail, Denny Amsden and Gary Fields. Mr. McNail was born March 12, 1924 in Centerville to Robert and Flavy (Faulkenberry) McNail. He married Dora Hasty November 21, 1943. They were the parents of eight children. Mr. McNail died January 15, 2009 in Salem at the age of 84 years, ten months and three days. Survivors include his children, Sue Amsden and husband, Dennis, Centerville; Carl McNail and wife, Betty, Chesapeake, Va.; Marvin McNail and wife, Linda, Collinsville, MS.; Richard McNail and wife, Vanessa, Centerville; Tom McNail, Ellington; and Ronnie McNail and wife, Lisa, Bunker; brothers, LeeRoy McNail and wife, Thelma, Pevely; and LeeJoy McNail, Mineral Point; sister, Lucille Barnes, St. Louis; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces; nephews; extended family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; special friend, Elsie Stewart; two children, Daniel McNail and Sandra Fields; three grandchildren, Timothy, Russel and Robert McNail; and 11 brothers and sisters. Wanda Smith McNeall - Age 72 of Springfield, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007 in her home. For over 12 years, Wanda struggled the horrific effects of Parkinson’s Disease. She was lovingly cared for and supported by her family, especially her husband, Don. She was born December 23, 1934 to Homer and Ethel Belew Smith of Summersville, Missouri. Wanda and her husband served faithfully as missionaries in Brazil with the International Mission Board for 32 years, retiring in 1998. Wanda was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister-in-law, Juanita Pearman. Survivors include her husband of over 52 years, Don McNeall; three children, Janice Johnson and husband, Mike; Paul McNeall and wife, Doyleen; and Brenda Greer and husband, Richard; six grandchildren, Caleb and Hannah Johnson, Cameron and Leandra McNeall, Alexis and Kenny Greer, and one foster grandson, Joey Pesa; six brothers, Lawrence Smith and wife, Margaret; Earnest Smith and wife, Bonnie; Wayne Smith, Merle Smith and wife, Linda; Harold Smith and wife, Sharon; Ronnie Smith and wife, Gail; and one sister, Beulah Bryant and husband, George; a sister-in-law, Wilma Haun and husband, Don; and a brother-in-law, Denny Pearman. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday July 3, 2007 in Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Hufft officiating under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut, with burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. PATTY ANN CRIDER MCNEW - Born December 29, 1952 in Birch Tree to the late Porter and LaVerne Crider. She departed this life March 10, 2004 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis MO. Patty married Darwin Leon McNew June 30, 1972 and to this union two children were born, Mendy and Heath. Patty accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was baptized with three sisters, Alice, Daye and Joy. She was a member of Pioneer Baptist Church where she loved teaching Sunday school to the younger children. Patty is survived by her husband Darwin; two children, Lendy Lane McNew Williams and husband Travis, of Winona, Heath Leon McNew and wife Andrea, of Birch Tree; two grandsons, Tanner and Alex; seven brothers; four sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law. The highlight of Patty's life were her grandsons. She had a special gift of making people always feel warm and welcome in her home Ð be it friend, family or stranger. One of her greatest joys was being surrounded by her large family and friends. That is how she departed this life Ð surrounded by all of her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. CHEYROL ELIZABETH INGOLD MCREYNOLDS - Born July 27, 1950 in Jonesboro AR to Roy and Patricia LANE INGOLD. She passed away on August 15, 2005 at the age of 55 years.  She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Boyce MCREYNOLDS. Cheyrol is survived by four daughters, Marcie Marlynn HOLLINGSHEAD, Mountain View MO, Myra Marie RILEY, Harrisonville MO, Madaline Michelle LEDGERWOOD, Birch Tree MO, and Mona Malissa MCREYNOLDS, Peach Tree City GA; one brother, Douglas INGOLD, Las Vegas NV; two sisters, Bonnie COSTA, Blue Springs MO, and Connie SKULLEY, Mount Zion IL; and ten grandchildren.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.  Funeral services were held on Friday, August 19, 2005 at Yarber Chapel in Mountain View MO with Bro. CAROLYN JOAN 'CAROL' LINDSEY VAN WINKLE MCROY - Daughter of the late Leonard and Dessie Parks Lindsey, was born at Eminence on March 12, 1946 and passed away at her home in Florissant MO., on March 12, 2004 at the age of 58 years. On June 16, 1986 she married Ben McRoy and spent most of her life in the St. Louis area. She was a member of Calvary Tabernacle Church in Florissant and a very active member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was very devoted to her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Ben McRoy of the home in Florissant; two daughters, Vicky Jean Cooper and Susan Irene Van Winkle, both of Winona; one son, Bobby Dean Van Winkle of St. Louis MO.; three sisters, Christine Lindsey Clark, Brenda Ziegler and Angela Fears, all of St. Louis MO.; five brothers, Ronnie Lindsey and Stanley Fears, both of St. Louis MO., Bruce Lindsey of Crocker MO., Michael Fears of St. Peters MO., and Kevin Fears of Barnes Mills MO.; four grandchildren, Dustin Cooper, Shelby McAfee, Tyler Downs and Jordan Brake, all of Winona. Other relatives and many friends survive to mourn her passing. Funeral services were held at noon Tuesday, March 16 at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield MO., with Brother Keath officiating. ADAM MEDLEY MEADE  - One of the old timers of Eminence and vicinity died at his home south of Eminence last Wednesday evening.  His death was very sudden, and was caused by a heart attack. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon in the Assembly of God Church at Eminence by Rev. E.E. Hembree, pastor.  Burial was in the Summers cemetery near Ink. Adam Meade was born May 5, 1875, in Shannon County, and departed this life September 10, 1947, at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 5 days. He was united with the Baptist Church in early life under his father's teaching.  He was united in marriage to Margaret LeGrand April 13, 1897, and to this union thirteen children were born, five of whom preceded him in death. He leaves eight daughters; Mrs. J.B. Lawson, Mrs. C.L. Thomas, Mrs. F.E. Copeland, Mrs. Herbert Crowder, Mrs. Bernie Tucker, Mrs. Ruby Voyles, Doris Meade, and Mrs. Walter Wells; one brother, H.C. Meade, one sister, Mrs. Fred Atchison.  His wife preceded him in death, January 25, 1941. He was united in marriage to Iva Smith, April 22, 1943.  He leaves his wife and six step-children, Carlos, Raymond and Dick Smith, Annie Russell, Mabel Atkins, and Jewell Means, besides a host of grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a number of relatives and friends. NOTE: He was the son of Rev. John Wesley Meade and Rebecca Mary Medley.

ADAM MONROE MEAD(E), JR. - The long life of A.M. Mead came to a close Saturday, March 1 and final rites were held at the First Methodist church Monday afternoon.  Burial was made in the Carnegie cemetery.  He was 90 years, 10 months and three days of age, but had been active about his home and among his friends until the few weeks before his death. Rev. W.Y. Switzer, pastor, conducted the service assisted by Rev. Oscar Eudaley, of the Nazarene church and arrangements were under direction of the Pitcher Funeral home.  Four sons and two sons-in-law were pall bearers. Born in Eminence, Shannon County MO., April 28, 1850, Mr. Mead lived in Texas while a young man and came to Oklahoma and settled on the old Hext ranch near Sayre more than 40 years ago.  The family came to Carnegie in 1922. Mr. Mead was twice married, his first wife dying, left him one daughter who is now Mrs. Annie Ford of Ardmore.  He was married to Miss Pearl Washburn at Alvord, Texas in June 52 years ago.  To them ten children were born, nine of whom survive.  They are Geo. M. Mead of Van Nuys, Calif.; Mrs. Minnie Beadle, Floyd, Roy and Dawson Mead all of Torrance, Calif.; Mrs. Myrtle Rogers, Fort Sill; Claude E. Mead, Carnegie; Mrs. Grace Gifford, Lookeba; and Mrs. Lois Reece of Whittier, Calif. There are 21 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; also one brother, John Mead of Eminence MO. Converted as a young man, Mr. Mead joined the Methodist church and as long as he was able was active in his church work.  NOTE: He was the son of Adam Monroe Meade, Sr. & Sarah Amanda 'Sally' Clay. He had a daughter Annie by a first marriage, then married Pearl Washburn in June, 1883 at Alvord, Texas and had a large family: Roy, Dawson, Myrtle, Grace, Lois, Claude, Floyd, Minnie, George, and a daughter who died in infancy.

CORNELIUS J. 'NEELY' MEAD - Of Big Creek, passed away January 29, 1941, at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 29 days.  He leaves his wife, three sons and two daughters, six grandchildren, two sisters and a host of friends to mourn. He was called to leave this world.  He met it with a smile. For he knew he would meet, His loved ones in a little while. But, oh, what a comfort it would have been to us all, If we could have taken the message from our dead brother's call. Like a flower that has passed away, he had left this world and all his friends; He is resting in the tomb. Funeral services were conducted by O. E. Sutterfield. By Mrs. Lucy T. He is buried at Heaton Cemetery.

IVA MAY MEADE - Age 90 of Eminence passed away Thursday Jan. 18 at the home of her daughter. HENRY CLAY MEADE - For many years a resident of Eminence, passed away at a hospital in St. Louis, Wednesday, September 27, at 5 p.m.  He had been in failing health for several months. Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist Church in Eminence last Saturday afternoon by Rev. Raymond Sconce.  Interment was in the New Eminence Cemetery. Henry Meade was in the barber business in Eminence for many, many years.  He also held the offices of Justice of the Peace and Probate Judge for many years.  Always genial and friendly, he won a host of friends, all of whom are deeply grieved by his death. Surviving are two sons and two daughters: Stanley Meade of Ferguson MO.; Elmer Meade of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Mrs. Marion Witt of Edinburg, Texas; and Mrs. Lillian Darr of Ellington MO.  Also his second wife, Mrs. Cora Meade, of Los Angeles, Cal. 

LOWELL D. MEADE - Son of Neely and Rebecca Meade, was born near Round Spring on February 19, 1921, and died at his home on big creek May 12, 1936, at the age of 15 years, 2 months, and 23 days.  He was stricken with pneumonia on Friday, and all that medical aid and loving hands could do could not hold him on earth when God called him home on Tuesday. He leaves to mourn his loss, his father and mother, aged grandparents, three brothers, James, William and Noel, two sisters, Mary and Margaret, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Brother Sutterfield and the body was laid to rest in the Heaton Cemetery.  May God lighten the burden of the bereaved family and cause the sun light of hope to shine through the dark clouds of sorrow.

MARGARET 'MAGGIE' LEGRAND CONWAY MEAD - Born May 31, 1883, in Shannon County, Missouri, and departed this life January 25, 1941, at the age of 58 years 7 months and 24 days. She was united in marriage to A. M. Mead, April 13, 1897.  To this union thirteen children were born, five preceded her in death.  She leaves her husband, Adam Medley 'A. M.' Mead, and eight daughters, Mrs. J.B. Lawson, Mrs. C.L. Thomas, Ruby Jean, Doris and Betty Louise Mead of Eminence MO., Mrs. Francis Copeland of Winona MO., Mrs. Herbert Crowder, and Mrs. Bernie Tucker of St. Louis MO., one sister Mrs. Sally Bowen of Brushy MO., one brother A. L. LeGrand of South Carolina, eleven grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. She united with the Baptist church in early life.  She bore her suffering patiently to the extreme.  No day was too lone and no work too hard for those she loved.  She will be sadly missed by her family, relatives, friends and neighbors. Funeral services were at the Union church, Monday afternoon, and was conducted by Rev. RHODA ELIZABETH CONWAY MEAD - On May 12, 1932, the Lord called our dear Mother to her heavenly reward.  She was 71 years, 3 months and 2 days old.  She was a native of Missouri and resided here in the immediate neighborhood during her entire life. She was confined to  her bed the most of the time for the past year and four months by a stroke of paralysis.  She had been a sufferer with rheumatism for the past 40 years.  Her suffering and pain were great but she bore them patiently till the Great Physician gave her relief from the pain, sickness and sorrow of this earth. Mrs. Mead was a devoted Christian, being a member of the Baptist Church for 40 years.  Her sympathy was always with the poor and needy and she was at all times ready to lend a hand to suffering humanity. She was a mother of six children, three of whom have crossed the river of death before her. She leaves an old gray-haired husband 76 years of age, who has been a faithful companion for 53 years, and three children, C.J. Mead and Mrs. Lucy Martin of Venice and Mrs. Martha Mead of Newport, Arkansas, two brothers near Bunker, T.H. Conway and J.M. Conway, and one brother, John Conway, near Ash Flat, Arkansas, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Counts and Mrs. Fanny Thompson of Timber, 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild to mourn her loss. The remains were laid to rest in the home cemetery. It won't be long till we meet Mother around God's throne, Where comes no pain to dim our love in that bright world in Heaven above. Mrs. W.H. Sarah Amanda 'Sally' Clay MEAD(E) - Grandma Mead, one of the pioneers of Shannon County, died last Friday and was interred Sunday.  She was reputed to be the oldest inhabitant of the county, being 95 years and 6 months of age at the time of her death, and had lived in Shannon County during a period of fifty years.  She was a daughter of Kentucky's greatest statesman, Henry Clay. Mrs. Mead was a consistent member of the Baptist church, and died as she had lived, in the hope of a glorious resurrection.  She was the mother of Parson John Mead, who lives in Moore township, and with whom she resided. The Wave extends condolence to her relatives and many friends.  She has 'crossed over the River and rests under the shade of the trees.'  [Published in the Current Wave, issue of Thursday, January 7, 1897.]   NOTE: She was born 1801 in Tennessee. She is buried beside her husband at Heaton Cemetery.

THELMA WILSON MEADE - Wife of James Meade and daughter of Columbus 'Lum' Wilson, was born November 27, 1918, and departed from this life at her home on Big Creek, July 17, 1936.  She was 17 years, 7 months and 15 days old. She leaves to mourn her loss, a husband and small daughter, Shirley Dee, some few hours old at the time of her death.  Also her father, two brothers, William and Willard, and five sisters, Jewell, Wilma, Maudeline, Naomi and Anna Mae, and also an aged grandmother.  A host of friends and other relatives mourn her passing.  She is sadly missed.  God took our loved one from us, a voice we loved is stilled. A vacant place is in our home, which never can be filled.   ----By one who loved her. 

WILLIAM S. MEADE - Son of Neely and Becky Ridgeway Meade was born May 6, 1913 at Timber, Missouri.  He passed away December 7, 1987 at the Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 74 years. William attended school in the Big Creek area. He was married to Jewel Wilson on September 22, 1939. William is survived by his wife Jewel, 2 sons, Frank and wife Jo of St. James MO.; Gene and wife Dianne of St. Clair MO.; 3 daughters, Betty Kile and husband Dale of Winona MO.; Ruthine Chapman and husband Mel of Salem MO.; Linda Edwards and husband Bob of Vernon, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, Mae Ruth Meade of Eminence MO., 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Noel Meade of Ellington MO.; 2 sisters, Maggie Camden of Boss MO.; and Mary Burns of Bunker MO. and many nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his parents, one son Gerald in June of this year and 3 brothers, Jim, Lowell and Johnny. He worked as a laborer, his last job was as custodian at the Courthouse until his health forced his retirement. He was baptized at an early age on Big Creek. William, 'Bill' as his family and friends called him, was a friend to many.  He enjoyed visiting with his friends at the 'coffee shop' - the last few years, and loved having his family around him. Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 10 at 10 am in the Duncan Funeral Chapel at Eminence with Rev. Lloyd Welch officiating.  Interment was in Munsell Chapel Cemetery under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Eminence. 

Kerry Joe Means - Born April 14, 1945, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Mo., to Ferlan 'Pete' and Velma Means. He went to be with the Lord on Feb. 8, 2011, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Mo. Kerry was preceded in death by his parents Pete and Velma; two brothers Bill and Jim; brother-in-law Bud Atkins; and a daughter Kelly. He is survived by his brother, Richard Means and wife Mary Ann of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister Peggy Atkins of Winona, Mo.; sister-in-law Margaret Means of Clever, Mo. Also surviving are nieces and nephews Cheryl Randolph and husband Walter; Lynette Aultman and husband Jon; Ferlan Atkins and wife Rhonda; Louann Rogers; Don Means and wife Nadine; Michael Means and wife Linda, Lisa Means, Jeff Means; Connie Joe Koehler and husband Gene; and Diane Means plus a host of great nieces and nephews. Kerry gave his heart to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ several years ago while attending Eminence Assembly of God and trusted in the Lord completely even during his lengthy illness. While unable to attend worship services due to his poor health, Kerry was faithful to read his Bible daily and listen to his favorite television minister at every opportunity. Kerry always took pride in his work as an auto mechanic and over-the-road truck driver. He was a hard worker until he became disabled then he found pleasure in his hobbies such as NASCAR televised races. He was an avid race fan. He won several trophies while playing the NASCAR video games. In earlier years, he loved fishing the rivers in this area with his brother-in-law Bud. Kerry dearly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His quick wit, infectious smile and mischievous personality made him a joy to be around. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at the Assembly of God Church in Eminence, Mo., with Rev. Lloyd Welch and Rev. Mark Thrasher officiating. Interment was in New Eminence Cemetery in Eminence, Mo., under the direction of Duncan Funeral Homes.

GORDON LEROY MEDLEY - Born August 4, 1934 at Eminence MO to Ernest and Robert MILLER MEDLEY. He departed this life October 16, 2005 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield MO at the age of 71 years, 2 months. Gordon attended grade school at Eminence, and graduated from high school in 1952. In the fall of 1952 he attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar MO. He began work in the Missouri Department of Conservation in 1954 as a Dispatcher, and worked there until he was drafted into the army in 1957. He served two years at Fort Riley KS as a Supply Clerk. He then returned to work in the Missouri Department of Conservation as a Forestry Technician for 39 years, until his retirement in 1993. Gordon was a faithful member of the Eminence United Methodist Church, serving on the board, as Bible School Coordinator, Sunday School teacher, and a member of the church choir. He was united in marriage to Doris SUTTON on October 9, 1953 at Eminence MO and celebrated 53 years of marriage. To this union three children were born, Sutton Leroy, Robert Sutton, and Cindy Jean MEDLEY. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Roberta; one infant son, Sutton Leroy; and infant brother, Lloyd Gayle. He is survived by his wife, Doris MEDLEY, of the home; one son, Robert Sutton, his wife Ruth and their children, Danielle and Caleb MEDLEY, Bolivar MO; daughter Cindy and her husband Bruce and daughters Ashlin and Morgan POLLOCK, LaHarpe IL; four brothers, Carl and wife Jackie MEDLEY, Jefferson City MO; Joe and wife Gaylon MEDLEY, Cato NY; Lendell and wife Adina MEDLEY, The Villages FL; Robert and wife Vickie MEDLEY, Mountain View MO; three sisters, Alta and husband Arthur ‘Bud’ YOUNGER, Mountain View MO; Mary DYER, Eminence MO; and Romona RYNO, Licking MO; thirty six nieces and nephews and fifty seven great nieces and nephews. Gordon was the rock of the MEDLEY family. He didn’t take this role in life lightly. He would guide, counsel, and give lectures when necessary. He would give an unbiased opinion and support whatever decision was made. His wisdom and guidance spanned three generations of MEDLEYS. Everyone who knew Gordon knew he was a staunch Democrat and an avid Cardinals fan. On any given day, you might have found him praising them or grumbling about their inability to play. On most days you could find him doing what he loved best, playing a round of golf with his many golfing buddies. He also enjoyed being a grandpa to Danielle, Ashlin, Caleb and Morgan, attending as many sporting events or activities as possible. He was a very loving husband, father, “grandpa”, uncle and friend to all who knew him. Numerous people have taken the opportunity to share with the family that Gordon MEDLEY was the finest man they knew. He will be truly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known and loved him. The visitation was held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2005. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at the Duncan Funeral Home Chapel in Eminence MO. Officiating was Rev. David FOWLER. Interment followed at Munsell Chapel Cemetery. - CARD OF THANKS – ‘Thank You’ cannot begin to express the love and appreciation for the overwhelming support that has been shown by so many of you at this time; the many prayers that were said for Gordon while he was in the hospital and that are continuing to be said for our family; those who attended the visitation and the funeral was heartwarming. HOBERT GUY MEDLEY - Our beloved father and brother was born March 30, 1904, at Sinkin MO., and entered into rest June 18, 1952, at the age of 48 years, 2 months, and 28 days, while at Koch Hospital, Koch MO. He was the son of the departed Thomas and Malissa MEDLEY. In December, 1923, he was married to Mattie BIRLEW, and to this union, were born two boys and one girl, who are all living--Billy Lee MEDLEY of East St. Louis, Ill; Erma Jean Ellis of St. Louis MO.; and Charles Jesse Medley of St. Louis MO. He leaves three brothers and two sisters--Zella COPELAND of Winona MO.; Sam MEDLEY of St. Louis MO.; Luther MEDLEY of Winona MO.; Everette MEDLEY of Robertson MO.; and Thelma SMITH of St. Louis MO. He leaves one grandson, four granddaughters, and a host of relatives and friends. He was baptized in the Oneness Pentecost Church and this remained his faith until his death. ROBERTA LEAH MILLER MEDLEY - Youngest daughter of Charley and Mary CHILTON MILLER, was born December 3, 1906, and departed this life on January 1, 1999, at the age of 92 years, 28 days, at the Mountain View Health Care Center, Mountain View MO. She spent most of her life in Eminence, and attended school there. She was united in marriage to Ernest MEDLEY on September 14, 1933 at Elvins MO. Nine children were born to this union. She never worked outside the home, but spent her time as a homemaker, raising eight children. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one infant son, one infant grandson, two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by five sons: Gordon and Doris MEDLEY of Eminence; Carl and Jackie MEDLEY of Jefferson City; Joe and Gaylon MEDLEY of New York; Lendell and Adina MEDLEY of Florida; Robert and Vickie MEDLEY of Mountain View; three daughters: Alta and Arthur YOUNGER and Mary DYER, of Eminence; and Romona and Harvey RYNO of Licking MO. Roberta is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She had a great love for each and every child and all her grandchildren. She professed Christ in her life at an early age. She was a member of the Assembly of god Church in Eminence and was faithful as long as her health permitted. Roberta had a love for everyone she knew and always greeted them with a smile and was ready to help if needed. Roberta’s wish, after she lost her husband, was to be able to live alone, and this she did until the last three months of her life. Granny Bert will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 4, 1999 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Eminence with Rev. Kevin DAVIS officiating. Monie Mae 'MONA' Bolden MELTON - Born December 30, 1934 at Decatur Morgan Co AL. She departed this life October 5, 1997 at 7:33 pm in the loving arms of her family. She was the daughter of William and Harriet Bolden of Decatur, Alabama. Mona was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all besides just her own. She touched everyone she ever met. A special thank you to her Home Health Care nurses for direction and support for the family. Survivors include two brothers, Tom and Jerry W. Rose Bolden of Market Tree, Arkansas; seven children: Robert Sikes, Charles Diane Sikes, of Rockford, IL, Billy Ray Betty Sikes, Diane Sikes and James D. Wakenight, all of Summersville, MO, Leo Theresa Villarreal of Cabool, Jesse Michelle Villarreal of Summersville, Andrew Jennifer Villarreal of Rockford, IL. Twenty-one grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mona is preceded in death by; her parents, three brothers; James, Jimmy, Ivan Red Bolden, one sister Helen Abernathy; Two husbands, Willie Sikes of Arkansas and Leopold Villarreal of Rockford, IL. Funeral Services were Thursday, October 8, 1997 at Duncan Funeral Chapel in Summersville with the Rev. Jim Jackson officiating. Interment was in Black Pond Cemetery under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Summersville.

Willard J. Mendenhall - Born May 17, 1916 at Bonne Terre, MO to William Mendenhall and Cynthia (Conway) Mendenhall. He passed away September 30, 2006 at Birch Tree, MO at the age of 90 years. He was united in marriage to Margaret M. Lynch on July 5, 1941 at Eminence MO. To this union, 5 children were born: Earl, Janet, Lindell, Gary and Roger. Willard and Margaret shared 62 years together. Willard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; one son, Earl; three brothers, Elmer, Clarence and Oly; and one sister, Pauline. He is survived by his daughter, Janet Estes of Imperial, MO; three sons, Lindell and wife, Sandy, of Rolla, MO; Gary and wife, Terri, of St. James, MO; Roger and Judy Mendenhall of Mountain View, MO; one sister, Eva Inman, of Salem, MO; 9 grandchildren, April, Gary, Scott, Jeffrey, David, Daniel, Bradley, Melissa and Christina; 11 great grandchildren, Tiana, Jordan, Kelsey, Rebecca, Dakota, Devon, Trystan, Dalton Mendenhall, Ashlee Marlatt, Tristan Wimberly and Colden Watkins. Willard was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved life; he was a strong man in both his presence and his faith. He has taught us many lessons in life about the measure of a man. We love him beyond measure. Interment was held at the Flatwoods Cemetery in Eminence, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home in Summersville MO.

BESSIE CUTTS MENG - Mrs. Bessie Meng Killed in Auto Accident - Mrs. Bessie Meng of Winona was instantly killed last Thursday when the pickup she was driving overturned on Highway 60 about three miles south of Van Buren. Mrs. Meng, who was accompanied by Jim Winchester, passed a truck and apparently lost control of her pickup, which crossed the highway and went off on the right side, overturning several times, we understand. Jimmy was only slightly injured, but Mrs. Meng was instantly killed.  We extend out most sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.  Obituary:  Bessie Leona Meng, the daughter of Azirah and Lucinda Cutts, was born December 24, 1895 at Ardmore, Okla., and departed this life December 8, 1955, at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 14 days.  She was united in marriage to Lewis Youngblood in March, 1914.  She was preceded in death by her father and mother, one brother, Esty, and one sister, Sadie.  She was united in marriage to James Paul Meng Dec. 22, 1940, who also preceded her in death.  There are left to mourn her passing, 2 sisters, Rosa Nichols of Springfield MO., and Lucy Youngblood of Winona MO.; 2 brothers, Willie Cutts of Winona MO., and Lester Cutts of Great Bend, Kansas; and a host of relatives and friends.  Her passing will be a great loss to the community and she will be sadly missed by all.  Pallbearers at the funeral were Farris Saad, Johnny Kuessner, Bill Gardner, Sherman Dailey, Clark Weaver and Pyrtle Weaver.   Card of Thanks:  We deeply appreciate the many acts of kindness shown by our many friends and neighbors during the death of our dear sister, Bessie Meng. AMANDA EDITH JOHNSON MENGES - Born June 23, 1904 at Winona, Missouri the daughter of David and Roena Bartle Johnson and passed away Sunday, March 5, 1989 at the age of 84. She was united in marriage to Raymond G. Menges in Kansas City MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, four brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by two sisters, Mabel Kitchell of West Plains, MO; Anna Willett of Adrian, MO; a niece, Mary Lou Nash of Eminence, MO, and several other nieces and nephews. Grave side services were held Wednesday, March 8, 1989 at the Bethany Cemetery at Eminence with Rev. Lloyd Welch officiating.  Burial was under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Eminence.

MARVIN A. MEYER - Born September 18, 1932 to August and Mary HODECKER MEYER, in St Louis MO. He departed this life on June 3, 1997 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, MO after a short illness, at the age of 64. He is survived by his wife, Wanda of the home in Winona, MO; a daughter, Roxeen MEYER of Santa Fe, NM; a daughter, Rosalind and husband Les KASEN of Anaheim. CA; a daughter, Avon and husband Tom SULLIVAN of Winona, MO; a son, Victor and wife Tina MEYER of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Irma DEAN of Hollister, MO and Mavis GREEN of Rocky Mount, MO; one brother, John KUESSNER of Winona, MO; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Marvin in death were his mother and father, one daughter and two brothers. Marvin accepted Jesus as his personal Savior, and was baptized in 1973. He lived by the Golden Rule, helping others whenever he could. He was united in marriage to Wanda HALEY on February 2, 1957 in St. Louis MO. Marvin and Wanda made their home in St. Louis where he worked as a painter for 46 years until September 16, 1994 when he retired and moved to Winona. Marvin was so happy to live in the Ozarks because he loved to fish and to be outdoors. He enjoyed bowling and excelled in everything hr did. He made many friends in the area, and will be missed by family and friends. Funeral services for Marvin A. MEYER were held at 10:00 am Friday, June 6, 1997 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Winona with Pastor Doug JANTZ officiating. CLINTON L.  MICHEL - Memorial services held Friday June 11th. 1950 for Sergeant Clinton L. Michel, son of Mr. & Mrs. Chas. H. Michel of Hartshorn MO. He was born October 8, 1921 & in the spring of 1941 he entered into the armed service & served until he met his death in North Africa in March 1943.  He leaves to mourn his loss, besides father & mother, four brothers, Vernie, Harold & Norman of Kansas City, and one sister, Elsie Green of Hartshorn.  Services were held at the Summersville Cemetery Friday 4:30 pm. Leland I. Heriford minister & a choir from the Summersville Baptist Church. The pall bearers were Dock Perkins, Homer Fleming, Wayne Crawford, Truman McConnell, Denver Kirkman & John Austin. Sergeant Hunter from the U.S. Army accompanied the body to Summersville & presented the family the American Flag at the close of the service.

MALVA ELIZABETH EDGMOND MICHEL - Daughter of Sterling & Matilda(Fulkerson) Edgmond, was born July 12, 1886 & passed from this life on Jan. 18, 1966, making her age 79 years, 6 months & 6 days. She was united in marriage to Charles Henry Michel on July 4, 1910 at Marionville MO. To this union 6 children were born. Her husband & one son preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Vernie & family of St. John, Harold & family of Hartshorn, Elsie Green & family of Hartshorn, Clarence Michel family of St. Louis & Norman & family of St. Ann MO. One sister, Mrs. Laura McBride of Fairview MO. 18 grand-children, 18 great-grandchildren & a host of nephews, nieces & other relatives & friends. She accepted Christ as her Saviour late in life & was ready to go to her heavenly home. Funeral services were conducted at Valley Center Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Thursday Jan. 20, 1966, with the Rev. George Greeney and Bro. Emmett Bradford officiating with burial in Summersville Cemetery under the direction of Summersville Funeral Home.

NORMAN HENRY MICHEL - Son of the late Charley Michel and Melva Edgmond Michel and was born at Hartshorn, Missouri on March 24, 1925 and passed away at the Lincoln County Nursing Center and Rehabilitation in Troy, MO on Wednesday evening, November 28, 2007 making his age 82 years and 8 months 4 days He was united in marriage to Elene Beavers, February 25, 1949 at Salem, Arkansas making their union together 58 years and 9 months. To their union one son Gary Dwayne was born. Norman served in the United States Army, serving from September 22, 1943 to December 4, 1945 and from June 13, 1946 to May 6, 1947. He worked for General Motors for 30 years retiring January 1, 1983. Norman then went to work at Central Hardware, October of 1983 and retiring in January 1, 1993. Norman accepted Christ and was a member of Valley Center Baptist Church. Preceding Norman in death are his parents, Charles and Melva, one sister Elsie Green, and three brothers, Vernie Michel, Clarence Michel and Clinton Michel. He is survived by his wife Elene Michel of the home in Troy, MO; his son Gary Michel of Troy, MO; his grandson, Jason Michel and wife Brandi of Holly Springs, Mississippi, two great grandchildren, Jakob and Emma Michel of Holly Springs, Mississippi; and one brother Harold Michel of Hartshorn, and many nieces, nephews and a host of other family members. Services were held at Valley Center Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 1st, 2007 at Bradford Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Heiney officiating. Interment and Military Honors were at Valley Center Cemetery near Hartshorn, MO under the care of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.

JACQUELYN SCONCE MICKEY - Age 62, of Marion, S.C., died Saturday, September 24, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Mickey was born May 20, 1943, in Granite City, Illinois, a daughter or Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Walter Sconce of Poplar Bluff.  She moved to Marion, S.C. in 1992, where she became an active member of her  community including the Marion Baptist Church and other various organizations.  In 1963, she married Dennis Eugene Mickey.  He survives. Other survivors include:  one daughter, Jennifer Higgins and husband, David, of Atlanta; her parents; her sister, Jane Worley of Poplar Bluff, and three grand children, Charlie, Cooper and Jack Higgins, all of Atlanta. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home in Marion, S.C.  The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at  the Marion Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Palmetto Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Palmetto Chapter, P.O. Box 12113, Florence, SC 29504 or the charity of one's choice.

ROBERT L. 'BOB' MEDLEY - Age 75, died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Nixa MO., on March 31, 2004. He was born in Kansas City MO., on June 10, 1928 to Robert W. and Lola B. Cage Miley who preceded him in death. He married Vanell B. Weaver on September 19, 1945 in Winona. He was a 1984 retiree from the U.S. Forest Service and was an active NARFE member. He spent much of his retirement researching family history and cemetery hunting. He had also volunteered at the Forsyth Library and was an active member of the White River Genealogical Society. Survivors include his wife, Vanell, of Nixa MO.; two sons, Michael A. Miley and wife Madeline, of St. Louis, and Lawrence D. Miley and wife Hilary, of Ozark MO.; two daughters, Kathryn Louise Jacob and husband Stephen, of St. Charles MO., and Mary Ellen Cromwell and husband Evan, of Redwood City, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Joseph and Erin Miley, Taylor, Gillian and Paige Miley, and Sean and Emma Cromwell; two great-grandchildren, Ian and Devin Miley; and a brother, Patrick Miley, of Winona. Visitation was at Adams Funeral Home in Ozark MO., Saturday, April 3.
