R.L. Rodgers of MATTHEWS, MO.
Robert Lee Rodgers, 93, died Dec. 15, 1996, near
Morehouse.
Born Jan. 14, 1903, at Hornersville, son of the late Pitman Joe
Monroe and Lidia Dalbie Rodgers, he lived in Matthews for the
past 11 years and was a Southeast Missouri resident most of his
life. He was a retired car dealer.
On May 8, 1975, at Morehouse he married Janie Bryan who survives
of the home.
Other survivors include; two sons, Eldon Rodgers of Portageville
and L.G. Rodgers of Sikeston; two daughters, Della Arville and
Kathryn Appleton of Sikeston; two stepchildren, Abbie Ward of
Sikeston and Larry Bryan of Houston, Texas; and 13
grandchildren, six sepgrandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, two
stepgreat-grandchildren and five
great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him' in death were two daughters, Goldie Scott on May
10, 1)96, and Betty Poole on Dec. 12, 1996; and three
grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons
Funeral Home in Morehhouse, where services are scheduled for 1
p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Don Heitman of Mattbews will
officiate.
Burial will follow in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery near Puxico MO.
