Carleill, Christopher Captain, Lieutenant General - ship Tyger - Drake's voyage 1586

 

Christopher Carleill, was a distinguished military and Navel commander, son of Alexander and Anne Barne. Anne Barne Carleill was the first wife of Secretary Walsingham. Alexander Carleill, mentioned here is thought to have been a nephew or cousin. The Tyger was part of the 23 ship fleet of Drake's voyage.
