This cemetery was surveyed by Fred Mieswinkel Aug 17 1962 and resurveyed by Connie Schmidt and Vicki Kizer on Jan 29, 2012.

Smith Cemetery is located about 3 1/2 miles east of Mt. Vernon on Hwy 174 on the south side of the road. This cemetery is seldom, if ever, cleaned up. On the day we went out to survey it, we had to use pruners and saw so that we could see the stones. It is very over grown and full of briars.
