The society was
formed in 1995, and it was decided that we would associate ourselves with
the JeffersonCounty Library,
Northwest Branch, in High Ridge. Our focus is to enhance the library's
collection, while making more genealogical records available to those
searching for ancestors from JeffersonCounty.
The society has a general membership meeting the third Saturday of
each month at the library. Guest speakers are scheduled, if available.
Field trips to other genealogy libraries are sometimes scheduled.
Membership is only $12.00 a year
and covers 12 months.
Start your membership during any month of the year.
We will keep track and inform members of renewal date for membership.
Benefits of membership include:
The Society
publishes a newsletter quarterly. It includes: interesting historical
and genealogical items, donated articles, public records, queries and
new membership information. Members are encouraged to submit family
group sheets and pedigree charts for publication.
You may
write to the society, at any time regarding a specific problem. We are
unable to do in-depth research for you, but will check (upon request)
publications at the JeffersonCounty Library,
Northwest Branch.
For help in
researching surnames, every new member is asked to fill out surname
cards and return them to the Library where they are housed.
