Jasper County Courthouse, Carthage, Missouri

Built in 1894-95 at a cost of $100,000, this grand building is still use today and located on the Carthage Square. The original courthouse, built in 1849 was a brick structure and was burned to the ground during the Civil War.



Jasper County Courthouse, Joplin, Missouri

This brick and stone courthouse was built on the southwest corner of 7th and Virginia at a cost of $20,000.00 and served for
only 17 years. A fire destroyed the courthouse in 1911. All that remains is the "1894" cornerstone.
