CARL G. MANNSCHRECK 

Carl G. Mannschreck, 87, Independence, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at the Medical Center of Independence. 

Mr. Mannschreck was born Dec. 8, 1912, in Seattle. He was a photographer for Time-Life magazine for 22 years before he retired. He was an Army veteran of World War II. 

His survivors include his wife, Ellen Mannschreck of the home; a stepdaughter, Jessie Gordon, Sugar Creek; two stepsons, Gary Long, Independence, and Lee Wallace, Topeka; two sisters, Martha Williams and Margaret Mauilla, both of Seattle; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Church of Christ, 1016 Allen Road, Independence, Mo. 64050.

SHARON L. BOKARAE 

Sharon L. Bokarae, 56, Independence, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at the Medical Center of Independence. 

Mrs. Bokarae was born Nov. 11, 1943, in Kansas City. 

Her survivors include her husband, Sam Bokarae of the home; one son, Brett A. Bokarae, Independence; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Greg Highfill; and one grandson. 

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Washington Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.

GEORGE E. BARTLETT 

George Eugene Bartlett, 81, Independence, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at the Independence Health Care Center. 

Mr. Bartlett was born Sept. 25, 1918, in Norborne, Mo., and had lived in this area most of his life. He had been a stocker for Sears and Roebuck. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Sophie Bartlett, died April 20, 1989. 

His survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia E. Riley and Mike Riley of Independence; one brother, Glen O. Bartlett, Kansas City; two sisters, Minnie Bell Hess, Independence, and Mabel Shroder, Clinton, Mo.; two grandchildren, Cindy Krevitz and Dean Riley, and one great-grandson, Justin Krevitz, all of Independence. 

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the chapel.

CALVIN C. HOELSCHER 

Calvin C. Hoelscher, 62, Blue Springs, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999. 

Mr. Hoelscher was born July 6, 1937, in Independence. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, and was a member of the Union Local 101. He had served as a volunteer fireman for the Jackson County Fire Department, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Blue Springs and Ararat Shrine. He was an Air Force veteran. 

His survivors include his wife, Nancy E. Hoelscher of the home; three daughters and their husbands, Libby Bradley, Mary Hemphill and Karen Merritt; and five grandchildren. 

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Burial will be in Blue Springs 
Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with a poppy seed service at 7:30 p.m. The family 
suggests contributions to American Legion Post 21 Honor Guard.

LEWIS E. 'GENE' HORN 

Lewis Eugene 'Gene' Horn, 60, Blue Springs, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at the Medical Center of Independence. 

Mr. Horn was born Dec. 25, 1938, in Clinton, Mo. He worked for Armco-GST for 38 years, and was a member of United Steel Workers of America Local 13, and was a committeeman for more than 30 years. He was a member of St. Robert Bellermine Catholic Church, Blue Springs. 

His survivors include his wife, Lorene Dolores Horn of the home; two daughters, Sarah Bartley and husband, Jeffrey, Olathe, Kan., and Theresa Lorene Bolinger, Blue Springs; two sons, Michael Horn and wife, Dawn, Lee's Summit, and Thomas Horn, Independence; one sister, Delores Ann Vickers, Independence; and two grandchildren, Joshua Bolinger, Blue Springs, and Collin Horn, Lee's Summit. 

Services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight at the Webb-Freer Funeral Home, Blue Springs, where a rosary will be said at 6 tonight. The family suggests contributions to the church.

ROBERT D. WARE 

Robert D. Ware, 79, Blue Springs, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital of Blue Springs. 

Mr. Ware was born Sept. 14, 1920, in Harrisonville, Mo. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He had worked for KCP&L. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. 

His survivors include his wife, Blanche Ware of the home; a son, Larry Collins, Blue Springs; a brother, Kenneth Ware, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; two sisters, Joan Janes, Portland, Ore., and Norma Grantham, Kansas City; and two grandchildren, Robert Collins and Suzanne Baldwin. 

Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Park Lawn Funeral Home, Kansas City. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Diabetes Foundation.

WILLIAM A. PROELL SR. 

William A. Proell Sr., 69, Independence, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Kansas City. 

Mr. Proell was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Marshfield, Wis., and lived in this area for the past 28 years. He retired from the Air Force in 1968 after 20 years of service. For the past 20 years, he worked for Smith & Loveless Inc. in Lenexa, Kan. 

His survivors include his wife, Charlene Proell of the home; three sons, Bill Proell Jr., Independence, Mark Proell, Buckner, and Sheldon Proell, Adrian, Mo.; two daughters, Roxanne Sowter, Perry, Kan., and Cheri Danna, Odessa; one sister, Nancy Grove, Littleton, Colo.; and 13 grandchildren. 

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Memorial Fund at Mercantile Bank, in care of Charlene Proell, 3640 Noland Road, Independence, Mo. 64055.
