THOMAS H. WILLEY 

Thomas Harold Willey, 50, Blue Springs, died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998, at the Miami County Medical Center, Paola, Kan. 

Mr. Willey was born Nov. 3, 1947, in New Rockford, N.D., and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a superintendent for Pearce Construction Co. He was a 1965 graduate of William Chrisman High School, and an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War era. He was an avid fisherman, was active in Blue Springs Little League, and a member of the East Independence RLDS congregation. 

His survivors include his wife, Susan Willey of the home; four children, Chad Willey, Adam Willey and Eric Willey, all of Blue Springs, and Kimberly Taylor, Kansas City, Kan.; his parents, Kenneth and Ava Willey, and a sister, Carolyn Barnhard, all of Independence; and two brothers, Richard Willey, Independence, and Steven Willey, Blue Springs. 

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The family will have a private graveside service following the funeral. Friends may call from 6 to 8:30 tonight at the chapel. RUTH E. DAVIS 

Ruth E. Davis, 99, Fayetteville, Ark., formerly of Blue Springs, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1998, in the Fayetteville Nursing Center. 

Mrs. Davis was born Sept. 23, 1899, in Lawrence, Kan., and had lived in Blue Springs, Springfield and Galena, all in Missouri. She was a member of McCord (Mo.) Baptist Church in Galena, Mo. She was a lifetime member and past matron of the Eastern Star. 

She is survived by a son, Keith Davis, Mountain View, Ark. 

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Rivermonte Cemetery, Springfield, Mo. Arrangements are under the direction of the Greenlawn Funeral Home, South, Springfield, Mo.

MARY J. CLARK 

Mary Jean Lentz Clark, 75, Independence, died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, on the family farm in rural Independence where she was born. 

Mrs. Clark was a teacher at Fort Osage junior and senior high schools, retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Buckner Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women, Ladies Aid and the Quilters group. She was also a member of the Independence Pioneer Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, where she served as regent, first and second vice regent, secretary and chaplain. She served as the district director of the West Central division of MSDAR and awards chairman. She was a docent at Truman Library, having volunteered the past 12 years, giving tours to school groups and tourists. She was also a member of Osage chapter of AARP and the Friends of the Trails. She was a 4-H leader for 12 years, and had been active in Extension Service and Farm Bureau. She was a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, and did further work at William Jewell College, Liberty, Mo., Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, and UMC. Her husband, Alva "Pat" Clark, died in 1978. 

Her survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and John Naples, Buckner, and Janice and Stanton Brown, Sibley; a brother, Roy Lentz, Raytown; and four grandchildren, Catherine and Anna Naples, and Patrick and Mary Brown. 

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at the Buckner United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Buckner Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. The family suggests contributions to the memorial fund at the church or the Kansas City Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brown Funeral Home, Buckner.

C. WARREN "PETE" HOLLOPETER 

C. Warren "Pete" Hollopeter, 73, Independence, died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at the Independence Regional Health Center. 

Mr. Hollopeter was born Oct. 30, 1924, in Pratt, Kan. He was retired from the Vendo Corp. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1000 in Independence, and American Legion Post 499 in Blue Springs. He was also a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 3717, Independence, and Moose Lodge 10, Sugar Creek, where he held a merit degree of Pilgrim. He was preceded in death by a son, Garlin Hollopeter in 1986. 

His survivors include his wife, Betty L. Hollopeter of the home; 

a son, Michael Hollopeter, Missouri City, Texas; three daughters, Chleora Bergquist, Portland, Ore., Shirley Hayles, Las Vegas, Nev., and Kristy Eller, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a stepson, Gary Wyatt, Independence; two sisters, Dorothy McGillivary, Ulysses, Kan., and June Schelhouse, Albuquerque, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Washington Cemetery. Friends may begin calling at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel, where a Moose Lodge service will be held at 7:30 p.m. The family suggests contributions to your favorite charity.

MABEL JONES 

Mabel Best Jones, 84, Independence, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998, at her home. 

Mrs. Jones was born Sept. 22, 1914, in Waukenda, Mo., and had lived in this area most of her life. She was the owner of a Tupperware distributorship, Best Friend Sales. She attended the Central Assembly of God Church, and was a member of the Soroptomist Club of Raytown, Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and the American Business Women's Association. 

Her survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Kay Best, Altamonte Springs, Fla.; three grandchildren, Christopher and Gregory Best, and Leighanne Ruby; and four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Chelsea, Nathan and Grace.

CLARENCE E. McMILLIN 

Clarence E. McMillin, 95, Independence, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at his home. 

Mr. McMillin was born May 1, 1903, in Sibley, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a farmer, had worked for Armco Steel, and was a member of the United Steelworkers of America Local 13 District. He was preceded in death by a son, Edward Eugene McMillin in May 1997. 

His survivors include his wife, Nettie L. McMillin, and a daughter, Betty J. McMillin, both of the home; a daughter-in-law, Gilda R. McMillin, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; a brother, John Stanford, Kansas City; a sister, Mary Oldham, Harrisonville, Mo.; one granddaughter, Julia Annette; and one great-grandson, Dillon Edward Fisher.

Delores L. Miller, 72, Amoret, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at St. Joseph Health Center in Kansas City. 

Mrs. Miller was born March 18, 1926, in Boicourt, Kan. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Pleasanton (Kan.) Assembly of God Church. 

Her survivors include her husband of 57 years, Roy R. Miller of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Allen and Shirley Miller, Fort Scott, Kan., Leslie and Kathy Miller, Gladstone, Mo., David Keith and Cathy Miller, Wellsville, Kan., and Kevin and Daniece Miller, Butler, Mo.; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Martha and Jim McCullough, Amoret, Betty and Carl C. Anderson, and Beverly Miller, all of Independence, and Carrie and George Lindsay, Amoret; two sisters, Dorothy Gaston, Amoret, and Ida Singer, La Cygne, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

VIDA V. ROGERS 

Vida V. Rogers, 78, Independence, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998. 

Mrs. Rogers was born Nov. 4, 1919, in Weir, Kan. She worked at and managed cafeterias for the Independence School District before she retired. Her husband, Donald M. Rogers, died in 1989. 

Her survivors include a son, Donald M. Rogers Jr., Albuquerque, N.M.; four daughters, Mary Brown, Wichita, Kan., Jeanne Barnes and Ginger Craven, both of Independence, and Vicki Hazelrigg, Fishers, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Doris Mae Roudebush, 83, Independence, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at the Rosewood Care Center. 

Mrs. Roudebush was born Sept. 20, 1915, in Independence, and was 

a lifelong area resident. She was a member of the Gudgell Park RLDS congregation, and Pythian Sisters Temple 150, where she served as pianist. Her husband of 49 years, Clifton T. Roudebush, died in 1984. 

Her survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sondra and Allen Watkins, and a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Helene Roudebush, all of Independence; two sisters, Emma Bridges, Independence, and Neita Hirst, Claremore, Okla.; a brother, Everett Holsworth; five grandchildren, Marc, Dennis and Jeff Roudebush, and Vance and Shannon Watkins; and two great-grandsons, Steven and Adam Roudebush.

Gerald E. "Nick" Stuck, 47, Sweet Springs, Mo., formerly of Independence, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at Fitzgibbon Hospital, Marshall, Mo. 

Mr. Stuck was born July 28, 1951, in Independence, and lived in Independence until moving to Sweet Springs six years ago. He was truck driver for UPS, retiring in 1992, and a Navy veteran. 

His survivors include his mother, Patricia S. McGinnis, Lake Havasu, Ariz.; a daughter, Nikita L. Stuck, San Angelo, Texas; a half sister, Paula Luna, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James T. Smith, all of Independence; and three grandchildren.

Della Marie "MaMa D" Turner, 58, Kansas City, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998, at St. Luke's Hospital. 

Mrs. Turner was born Feb. 13, 1940, in California, Mo., and had lived in Kansas City most of her life. She was a cosmetologist and currently was resident manager for Cohen-Esry Properties. She was a member of the Sheffield Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Todd Anthony, and a grandson, Jeremy Joseph Kowalski.

ELSIE E. WIGGINS 

Elsie E. Wiggins, 81, Oak Grove, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at Crescent Health Services of Oak Grove. 

Mrs. Wiggins was born Sept. 5, 1917, in McKenzie, Ala., and lived in Manhattan, Kan. for 46 years, moving to Oak Grove seven years ago. She was a licensed cosmetologist in Manhattan for 45 years, having owned and operated "Your Studio of Beauty" and "Coiffure Beauty & Spa." She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 

Her survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Randol and Florene Wiggins, Grain Valley; three brothers, Jerry Salter and Orval Salter, both of Independence, and Jasper Salter, Daleville, Va.; five grandchildren, Amy Leavell, and Gene, Brad, Randy and Brett Wiggins; and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Lauren Wiggins.

Mary Evelyn Coutts, 95, Ashtabula, Ohio, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, at a nursing home in Ashtabula. 

Mrs. Coutts was born May 22, 1903, and was a former resident of Kansas City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Coutts, and two children, George Antonio and Ruth Slay. 

Her survivors include three daughters, Thelma Brown and Katherine "Kitty" Shineman, both of Independence, and Viola Canter, Columbiana, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

FRANCES R. DeANGELO 

Frances Rose DeAngelo, 76, Kansas City, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, at her home. 

She was born Dec. 1, 1921. She was a lifelong resident of Kansas City's northeast neighborhood. She graduated from Northeast Senior High School in 1937. She was an accomplished pianist and made her first professional appearnce at age 16 on a weekly 15-minute program on radio station KXBY. She was an execute secretary and worked for many business firms and non-profit groups in Kansas City. Her last position was with Roto-Rooter. She was a member of The Friends of Corinthian Hall and was dedicated to preserving the Kansas City Museum. She worked on the yearly Scarrit Renaissance Neighborhood homes tours. 

Her survivors include her brothers, Frank DeAngelo, Rancho Mirage, Calif., and Pete DeAngelo, Gladstone, Mo., and a sister, Dory DeAngelo of Kansas City; and many nieces and nephews. 

Services will be at noon at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 5100 St. John. Robert Irvin Fuller, 83, Independence, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, at his home. 

Mr. Fuller was born Dec. 28, 1914, in Wilcox, Mo., and had lived in Independence most of his life. He was a self-employed truck 

driver for 45 years, retiring in 1977. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Fuller.

Drexel Lincoln, 89, Independence, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, at his home. 

Mr. Lincoln was born Feb. 15, 1909, in Fremont, Neb. He had been a poultry handler. He had been a member of Carlisle Baptist Church, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda.

GARY D. PRINCE 

Gary D. Prince, 52, Independence, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, at his home. 

Mr. Prince was born April 3, 1946, in Kansas City. He lived in the Independence area his entire life. He served as a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. He worked at AGCO for 30 years. He was active in the United Steel Workers Local Union 1958, serving three years as vice president and three years as president. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1000. 

His survivors include his wife, Karen Prince of the home; his children, Phillip and Melanie, also of the home; his mother, Gracie Prince, Independence; a sister, Connie Joyce, Independence; and many other relatives. 

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Independence. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends

ANGUS E. "BUD" WILLIAMSON 

Angus E. "Bud" Williamson, 92, Independence, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, at the Medical Center of Independence. 

Mr. Williamson was born Oct. 22, 1905, in Independence and had lived in Independence most of his life. He was co-owner and operator of Young and Williamson Standard Service Station in Independence for 10 years, retiring in 1968. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Independence, and a graduate of William Chrisman High School. 

His survivors include his wife, Juanita Parrett Williamson of the home; and two sisters, Dorothy Wahrenbrock and Frances Burk, both of Independence.

MABLE R. PRATT 

Mable Roberts Pratt, 94, Blue Springs, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, at the Medical Center of Independence. 

Mrs. Pratt was born Nov. 11, 1903, in Thayer, Mo., and had lived in Thayer for 77 years before moving to Blue Springs in 1980. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ladies Society to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers. She was a graduate of Thayer High School and had attended Southwestern Missouri State University, Springfield. She had taught the third grade in Thayer. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Thayer. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Zack Roberts in February, 1970, her second husband, L.B. Pratt in February, 1976; and two infant sons. 

Her survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Lowell Pauli, Blue Springs; three grandchildren, Susan Pauli, Mark Pauli and Dennis Pauli; a great-grandson, Joshua; two nieces, Helen Brand and Annajean Keller; and other relatives.

Orpha Simpson, 82, Kansas City, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998, at Independence Regional Health Center. 

Mrs. Simpson was born March 7, 1916, in Logap, Ark., and had lived in this area most of her life.
