Riddle Hill Cemetery
Riddle cemetery sat directly west of Malden on Highway J.
As you climb to the top of the ridge there is a large peach orchard
on the left. On the right a Rev. and Mrs. Haynes own a home.
Where the trailer park sits now was the Riddle cemetery.
This was bull dozed @ 1969 to 1970 and turned into a mobile
home park after the Tompkins family sold the property.
The following are confirmed burials for this cemetery:

RIDDLE, Ellen Nellie b-1826 d-1897 the wife of Peter Riddle,
born-Virginia. She died-in April 1879 and her estate was
probated 24 May 1879 by her brother in law, John Riddle.
Peter and Ellen were the parents to the following
"known" children:
Henry, Rolen, Amanda, John, Nancy, Margaret, and Seymore.

RIDDLE, John b-March 21, 1828 b-August 6, 1904
Kentucky and died born-in Bernie, Mo. at the residence of his son,
Dr. John Frank Riddle. John Riddle was the son of
George and Sarah (nee Hale) Riddle.
John was an elder at the Bethany Baptist Church and
most of the family is interred there.

d-August 6, 1896 (She was the wife of John and the daughter
of Mrs. Eliza J. Beckwith)on Riddle Hill.

on Riddle Hill. He married Saphronia (nee Tompkins) Riddle
who was born November 1854 and died 18 April 1895 on Riddle Hill.
He was the son of John and Joeller (nee Beckwith) Riddle,

He was the son of George Albert and Mary E. (nee Craft) Riddle,
and the grandson of James "Fiddlin Jim" and Sarah Riddle.

RIDDLE. Saphronia (nee Tompkins) b-November 1854 and d-April 18, 1895

RIDDLE. Seymore b. @ 1845 Kentucky and died 1 February 1889.
He was the husband of Emma D. Wiggs-Riddle. He was the son of
Peter and Nellie Riddle. Peter was the son of George and Sarah (nee hale)
Riddle of Floyd Co., Kentucky. His father Peter was the brother to
John Riddle who established Riddle Hill after purchasing it from
Dr. Given Owen.

RIDDLE, Safronia Jane Tompkins-Riddle was born November 1854
in Stoddard or Dunklin Co., Mo. She was the daughter of Carney and
Eleanor Tompkins of Kentucky. Safronia married Robert R. Riddle 24
October 1875 in Dunklin Co., Mo. Safronia and Robert died 12 days
apart. Their estate settlements at the probate office in Dunklin
County lists no heirs.
