Photos of Abram Stuart Hight and his wife, Ellen Miller Wood Hight, early citizens of Dent County. The date of the photos is unknown. Both are buried in Cedar Cemetery in Salem. They farmed in Spring Creek Township in Dent County and raised twelve children.
According to a letter written by sister Deborah to sister Harriet, the eldest brother, Alfred, had received word from Stuart that he and a younger brother, John, had marched with a company of Missouri volunteers to Santa Fe and captured the city during the Mexican War in 1846.
Stuart was a younger brother of Ebenezer A Hight, a minister in Dent County.
