The Stagners were of German descent.  They moved to Dent County from Kentucky in 1840.


HUSBAND & WIFE:   Married Dec. 3, 1818 in Warren Co KY.
STAGNER, JOHN     Mar. 29, 1794 - Nov. 18, 1866.    Son of John Barney Stagner. Born in Rowan Co. NC. Forerunner of Stagner Family of Dent County. Brother of Jesse Barney, Anna, Sarah, Neddie, John, Barney Thomas, Rebecca H., Elenor, & Richmond P. Stagner.
STAGNER, ANNA HENDRICKS   
 Mar. 12, 1791 - Feb. 20, 1856.    Children Mary Ann (m. Abner H. Leonard); Thomas Jefferson, Sr.; George Hendricks (buried at Dry Fork Cemetery); James A.; William R. and John H.
