SMITH, JONATHAN LUNA     Abt 1828 - Abt 1864.    (Dates estimated)    Son of George Smith & ____ Adkins? Born in Alabama. Confederate Soldier, bushwhacked on his farm 9 miles SE of Salem (present Quinton Cook farm), unknown location. Married Catherine Ann Pirtle {Pyrtle} abt 1847. Eight children: James Lafayette 'Fate' (m. Viola B. McGarvey), Mary  Catherine 'Mollie', Martha Josephine (m. 1) James A. Warfel, m. 2) John W. Mann), & William C.'Billie' - all buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery, and Milla Jane (m. James M. Sullivan, both buied at Empire Cemetery.

Information for Catherine Ann Pyrtle:     Dec. 28, 1829 - Jan. 21, 1911.     Daughter of Carr Pyrtle & Margaret Hurd. Lists children with Jonathan as John Price (-), Martha Josephine (-1876), Sarah Elizabeth (-), Margaret Ann (1849-), William Campbell (1852-1913), Milla Jane (1853-1939), Josephine Martha (1853-1937), James Lafayette (1856-1945) and Mary Catherine (1862-1955).
