The Clear Creek Church was purchased for ten dollars on July 5, 1856 from Matilda and
William C. SCOTT� by Nathaniel Z. DAVIS,� Samuel CRAWFORD,� and James MILLER,�
trustees for the Christian Church. Clear Creek church burned in 1899.� And on September 5, 1899 it was decided to rebuild the church.� The church was built a short distance east of the old one.��� The last services held there were in the 1940�s. The Clear Creek Cemetery property was received from Levi P. and Catharine COX November 8, 1878. Clear Creek School was located across the road from the Christian Church on Highway 190.� It was established in 1840.� This building was destroyed by fire during the Civil War when two men were killed.� One was hiding in the school and the other in the church.� The school was rebuilt one quarter mile east, and then a new building was constructed one half mile north of this last one in 1899.� Clear Creek School closed in 1955. The church is still standing and maintained. The cemetery is well cared for.
