Joe L. Miller has spoken to the
funeral directors of these facilities and they have graciously
offered to do limited genealogical lookups. They will not
charge for their services and do it as a service to the public.
Their records of funerals go back to about 1940. For those
buried by the Shanklin Funeral Home, contact the Cuba
facility. You may contact the Steelville office for burials in
the Steelville Cemetery.
Please adhere to their requests so
as not to spoil it for the rest of us.
-
Your ancestor must have been buried by them after
1940.
-
Please use the US mail and do no call them by
telephone.
-
Send an SASE for return mail. They are not on
the internet.
-
You may visit their office if you are stuck on a
problem and they will be glad to help.
-
Do not request a long list of ancestors in a single
mailing.
-
Lookups will be done as time permits.
-
No charge for copies of the records (death
certificates or obituaries) they have.
-
Be sure to thank them for their services.
-
Remember our Archives; we can use whatever you can
donate.
