Last Will and Testament of Christoffer Strunk

Know all men by these presents that I Christoffer Strunk of St. Louis County and State of Missouri now in good health and of sound mind and memory, but being satisfied of the great uncertainty of living and certain length of time and the absolute certainty of death sooner or later and being serious? of making the best possible dispersion of all my worldly goods, do make and declair this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills be me at any time made. First it is my will and desire that all my just debts if any, and funeral expenses be fully paid. Second I give and bequeath unto my wife Catharine Strunk all my estate both real and personal for and during the time of her natural life upon condition ?????? that she never marry but if she should marry after my death the ???? ???? ???? as now allowable? and after her death to my children jointly that may be living and to the issue of each he may leave (if any). Family, William Strunk, Misibubain? Strunk who is a cripple and is to be clothed & fed and have all the necessary expenses paid at the expense of the estate so long as my said wife may live and after her death to have an equal share with the other children. Fredrick? Strunk, William Strunk (by another wife) Ann Elizabeth Strunk, Margaritt Strunk, Michael Strunk, Henry Strunk and to each as may be born hereafter (if any) by the present marriage of testator & his wife Catherine. Property as follows ???? forty acres of land lying in Cole County Missouri, two houses, household and kitchen furniture, general deed notes to become due to the amount of eight hundred dollars and also all other property that may come into my possession at any time before my death of every ????? for ???? to be held by my said wife Catharine Strunk until her death and then to my aforesaid children as herein before provided. Thirdly and lastly I appoint Mr. Philip Ott and my wife of Cole County Missouri executor of this my last will & testament.

In Testimony whereof the said Christoffer Strunk have hereto set my hand and seal in the presents of Samuel Henly, Jr. and William Bogsholz? This ???-fourth? day of August in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty three.

I Samuel Henley, Jr. of the County of St. Louis and State of Missouri being a witness to the foregoing will of Christoffer Strunk hereby certify that I did sign the name of the said Christoffer Strunk and at his request.

Be it remembered that on the eighth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty five formally appeared before me Clerk of the County Court for Cole County aforesaid Thomas Gregory and William Mangal who made oath and said that they were subscribing witnesses to the last will and testament of Christoffer Strunk that they signed said will and testament in the presents & the request of the said Christoffer Strunk that said Strunk signed said will & testament in their presence and that he was of sound and disposing mind at the time of signing the same.
