My grandfather Robert was born in Osage City on December 12, 1897 to William Oscar Smith & Amelia Goser. He is the grandson of Paul & Margaretha Hoelrich Goser.

His family moved to Howard County, Missouri and then to Rocheport, Boone County, Missouri where he met and married my grandmother Velma Ree Lewis on January 14, 1923.

They had three children: Robert Antone Smith, Jr., Helen Marie Smith (Nicholson), and Richard Lee Smith (my father) all of whom are deceased.
