Mr. Waters dies at age 82

Nimrod L. Waters, 82, of 410 Washington St., died early Saturday at St. Marys Health Center, where he had been a patient since March 28. He was born Jan. 25, 1895, at Vandalia, son of Steven Albert and Fannie Jane Kietlery Waters. On Sept. 9, 1925, he was married at Vandalia to the former Miss Zylphia Irene Hodges, who survives the home. He attended Vandalia Public schools, and lived at Vandalia before moving to Jefferson City in 1923. He served with the United States Army during World War I. He was a member of the Eagles Barracks, Veterans of World War I; the Roy Sone Post No.1003, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Jefferson City Senior Citizens Club. He was employed as a clerk in the auditing department of the Missouri State Highway Department for 38 years before retiring Feb. 1, 1962. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Lillian Gore, Vandalia. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Waters Funeral Home, Vandalia Cemetery. Mr. Waters will lie in state from 2-5 p.m. today at the Buescher Memorial Home here. Memorials have been suggested to the Missouri Heart Assn. of the American Cancer Society.
