The funeral of the late Captain James Enloe, father of Dr. Cortez and Dr. H. K. Enloe and brother of Dr. I. N. Enloe, who died at St. Mary's Hospital yesterday, will be held this morning. The masons of the city will have charge of the services, after which the body will be removed to the family burying ground near Russellville for interment. Captain Enloe was 79 years of age at the time of his death. He served in a company organized here for the protection of the capitol during the civil war. He was elected Captain of the troops and he served with distinction. Following the war he was elected county school commissioner. Later he went into the lumber  business at Olean which he followed for a number of years.  He removed to Versailles and about eight years ago he retired and has since resided in this city. For the past year he has been in St. Mary's hospital and his death was not unexpected. Besides his two sons here he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Rose St. John of this city; Dr. J. L. Enloe of Kansas City, Dr. F. H. Enloe of Eldon, E. E. Enloe of Kirksville, sons and two other daughters, Mrs. G. Guenther of Collinsville, Oklahoma, and Mrs. J. M. Townley of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Enloe family is one of the oldest and best known in central Missouri. In the list of relatives are about twenty-one, who are now either physicians or dentists.

Captain Enloe lived in Eldon several years after he retired from business and had many friends there. He was somewhat of a philosopher, an entertaining conversationalist and a man whose company was enjoyed not only by comrades of his own age but young people as well. He was born on the North Moreau 5 miles northwest of Russellville, June 24, 1838. His father and mother were Enoch and Jane Murry Enloe. The brothers and sisters living are: Tom and Hugh of Russellville, Henry Enloe of Fresno, California,  Dr. John S. Enloe, of Bay, Mo., Dr. I. N. Enloe, of Jefferson City, Mrs. Thompson of Washington, Mrs. Connell of California and Mrs. Gregory, of Russellville. Mr. Enloe was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 55 years and was also an honored member of the G. A. R.

J. B. Bowers, E. M. Graham, Green McClure and I. Bashore members of the Eldon Post G. A. R. attended the funeral services at the Enloe Cemetery near Russellville Sunday.
