James "Jim" O. Bittick, 61, Centertown, died March 8, 2001, at St. Mary's Health Center, Jefferson City. He was born Oct. 22, 1939, near Centertown, a son of Famous Oral and Nettie Welch Bittick. He was married April 8, 1961, in Jefferson City to Brenda Lee Hall, who survives at the home. A graduate of Jamestown High School, he was a self-employed siding applicator for homes. He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church, St. Martins, and the NRA. Other survivors include; three sons, Kenneth Bittick, Springfield, Robert Bittick, Centertown, and Michael Bittick, Jefferson City; one daughter, Tanoah Arbuckle, Tremont, Miss., 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Martin Catholic Church. The Rev. Edwin Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Martins Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, with prayer service at 4 p.m., at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. Memorials are suggested to St. Martin Catholic Church, 7148 St. Martins Ave., Jefferson City, Mo. 65109; or St. Martins School, 7206 St. Martins Ave., Jefferson City, Mo. 65109.
