Mr. Fletcher dies at age 94

Fletcher, 94, 315 Adams St., died Monday at Jefferson City Manor Care
Center. He was employed by the Missouri Pacific Railroad for more than 50 years.
He was born Feb. 15, 1883, at Centertown, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William
Fletcher. He was married July 12, 1962, at Jefferson City, to Nelle M. Wiggs,
who survives. Mr. Fletcher had served as mayor of Centertown and on the
Centertown Board of Education. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the
Roger Williams Sunday School Class of the Church and was a 56-year member of the
Russellville Lodge No. 90, A.F & A.M. He had served as deacon of the Centertown
Baptist Church and as superintendent of the church's Sunday School. Other
survivors include: Four sons, Floyd Fletcher, 1514 Rosewood Dr., Robert
Fletcher, California, Lauren Fletcher, Fresno, Calif., and Don Fletcher, Walnut
Creek, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Verona Ray, Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Ruth
Tolladay, Fresno, Calif., 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Services
are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday at Buescher Memorial Chapel, with the Rev G.
Nelson Duke and the Rev. James Vest officiating. Burial will be in Centertown
Cemetery, Centertown. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at
Buescher Memorial Chapel.
