Lettie Landrum Clay at Union School Photo

Union School, dated June 8, 1896

Maria ROUTSZONG, teacher

My great aunt, Lettie LANDRUM CLAY, is in the second row from the back, on the right hand end. I do not know any of the other students, I am very  sorry to say, although she did say that her nephew, Ivy LANDRUM is "near her" in this picture. Union School was somewhere near Elston, and I am  guessing it was west of town. If anyone knows differently, please let me know. I'd also love to know the others in the picture.

Lettie LANDRUM CLAY was the youngest child of John Mulkey LANDRUM and Virginia PEEPER LANDRUM. She was born near Elston in January 1883 and married Alvin Brown "Brownie" CLAY of near Lupus in Moniteau County November 9, 1923. They lived in Jefferson City and they had no children. Brownie died in April 1939 and Lettie died in September 1982. They are buried at Elston.
