Pioneer, Dies
Liberty, MO., August 31 - O'Fallon Dougherty, 83
years old and a pioneer resident of Clay county, died
this morning at his home in Liberty. Mr. Dougherty
was a director of the Commercial bank of Liberty.
In his early days he was an Indian trader and later
became a farmer. He retired from his farm several
years ago.
Mr. Dougherty is survived by one brother, Capt. L. D.
Dougherty of Leavenworth, Kansas, the first white
child born in Kansas. Two daughters, Mrs. Clara W.
Moore, Kansas City, and Mrs. H. J. Alexander,
Liberty, also survive.
