L. M. Henson, Circuit Clerk of Butler County was the only survivor of a shootout that resulted in the death of his brother Riley Henson, William Heck and H.S. Adams. I was sent abstacts of articles from the St. Louis paper which indicates it was in April,1905 but I could find nothing in the Poplar Bluff paper for that month. Since Henson was charged with first degree murder, I am sure it made the paper. I don't know if Henson was convicted but even if not, it surely ended his political career. Can anyone find when his term ended, or the date of death of Riley Henson or Adams. Heck's stone has no dates on it.
