| Research Note | This house is in Holmesville, Gage Co., NB where Estella, Ella, and Minnie were born and where James Pease homesteaded land. When he first came to Gage County, he lived in a sod house. They moved to Springfield, MO in 1895 where they stayed for a little while and then they moved to Washburn, Barry Co., MO, and bought the Cornelius Westfall place at the top of Greasy Creek Hill.
Janetta Ermina was the daughter of Abraham and Elizabeth (Shambaugh) Fetrow. She was born in Dallas Co., IA. Her father and mother were Pennsylvania Dutch and was born in Harrisburg, in Dauphin Co., PA. Her German ancestors were from the Palatine section of Germany. She said that she was PA Dutch. Records indicate that her ancestor was Johannes Philip Fedro from Heidleburg, Germany and imported in 1738 to York Co., PA. James Alvin Pease was born in Hartford Co., CT, and a son of Orlando and Asentha (Goddard) Pease. He was a descendant of Gov. William Bradford who came on the Mayflower. The Pease family lived many years in the Granby and Enfield, Connecticut areas. |
| Date Taken | The family photo isn't dated, but probably was taken in or about 1893 or 1894. The house photo was taken in 1958. Minnie Pease Lund had a note on it stating it was where Papa homesteaded and was where she was born. |
