| Husband of Martha Catron was John Henry Fields 1883 - 1973. Martha Jane Catron Fields, 1875-1967, was born in the Clinch Mountains of Hancock County, in eastern Tennessee. She was the oldest daughter of 11 children and named after her grandmother Martha Begley Edens. She took care of many of the children in her family. She cared for her sister Mary Ann who died young, and for her mother who became ill after the family moved to Barry County, Missouri. When her mother died, she cared for her younger sister Lula. After moving to The Dalles, Oregon, she helped raise her neice Dorothy Catron. Martha met and married her husband John Henry Fields while they still lived in Hancock County, Tennessee on Feb. 7, 1901. They moved to Exeter, Barry County, Missouri with her family and after Martha's mother passed away, the family moved on to The Dalles, Oregon. |
