HERE'S THE NEWS

Details are being wrapped up and town projects are coming to an end.  Make sure to swing by the school site and check out the bell sitting atop a stately and elegant base.  Don't step on the flowers surrounding it!  Hats off to everyone involved!  It looks great!

Saturday after the parade, at approximately 2:30pm, plan to be back at the school site for the introduction of classes and staff.  Once your group has been recognized, class pictures will be taken.

Have you shined your dancing shoes?  Pressed your sundress?  Get ready for 2 nights of dancing and entertainment!  There will be guest speakers at the bell dedication ceremony that will be held Saturday morning at the school site.  We have been blessed to have Humboldt's own Cleo Wang Jones grant us a song or two during the program.  You won't want to miss this weekend!

The meals that are being served Friday and Saturday night will be held in Humboldt right behind Harvey and Helen Diamond's home in the Quonset located in the pasture on the south edge of town.  Parking will be available throughout the town.  Specifics will be in next week's paper or you may check the website.  You can also check at the registration table located in the fellowship hall at the church.  Registration begins Friday morning at 10:00am and will run until 5:00pm.  Saturday morning registrations will be from 8:00am until 11:00am.  You will need to "check in" to receive your registration packet.  The Humboldt church youth will be sponsoring a breakfast at the Diamond Quonset from 8am -10am Saturday morning.  Plan on attending that!

Don't forget your chair!  Make sure you bring a lawn chair (or two) so you can enjoy the parade and programs in comfort!  Children's games will be held both Friday and Saturday with some old favorites to include:  money in the straw, sack races and more!

It's not too late for your parade entry.  Please contact Perm or Dennis Diamond at 218-379-3134 with any questions or to register.  You may still register for the Saturday meal if you have not done so yet.

Exhibits and displays in the City Hall will be open Friday and Saturday all day.   The Bockwitz DVD's will run at various times in the church sanctuary.  Make sure to stop in and catch a piece of history!

The next committee meeting will be held Wednesday, June 13th at 7:30pm at the church.
