Arthur Streed

Arthur Streed, 77, Grand Forks and formerly of Pembina, died Monday May 10, 1999 at Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks.

Arthur C. Streed was born August 17, 1921 at Hallock, the son of Alfred and Anna Marie (Nelson) Streed. He grew up and received his education at Hallock.

On July 4, 1941, he married Lenora Lyle at Hallock. They made their home in Hallock and Art and his brother, Henry owned and operated Streed Electric. He was employed by Holland Furnace Company, living in various communities in North Dakota before moving to Pembina in 1971. They moved to Grand Forks in 1992.

Family members include his wife, Lenora Streed, Grand Forks; a daughter, Linda (Robert) Martens, Grafton; three grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Hilda Baker, Hallock and Ruth Schaut, Sturgeon Bay, WI; a brother Henry (Luella) Streed, New Brighton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Gertrude Johnson and Theria Johnson, a granddaughter and a grandson.

Funeral services were Thursday May 13, 1999, 2 p.m. in Drayton United Methodist Church, Drayton, ND. Rev. Stan Bockwold officiated.

Pallbearers were Tom Dorion, Hank Hellyer, Francis O'Hara, Gary Wilkie, Larry Lupien and George Jarus. Interment was in Bowesmont Cemetery at Bowesmont.

Arrangements were with Adamson-Austin Funeral Home, Drayton.
