Henry was a prominent Agriculturalist and Horticulturalist, serving as President of the Fruit Growers Association. He was involved in church activities. In 1887, he was named Commissioner for managing the General Exhibition of Agriculture representing Hamilton, Lot 18. Henry's farm was situated on Shipyard Road. He was a grandson of the Hon. John Ramsay of Rose Hill, Lot 16.
