Marvin Seed

Marvin Floyd Seed, 87, Hallock, and formerly of St. Vincent, died at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock, Monday, Oct. 19, 1998.

He was born in St. Vincent, April 7, 1911, the son of Thomas and Catherine (Ash) Seed. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in St. Vincent.

Marvin served in the U.S. Army prior to and throughout WWII, returning home in 1945. On Nov. 14, 1946, he married Dorothy Margaret Leech in Rockford, Ill. They returned to St. Vincent and farmed there until retirement.

After he retired from farming, Marvin worked for eight years at American Crystal Sugar Compoany in Drayton and continued to work with his brother and family on their farm near St. Vincent.

Family members include his wife of 52 years, Dorothy; two sons, Carl (Peggy) See, Thief River Falls; Larry (Tamise) Seed, Kalispell, Mont.; a daughter, Virginia Nulle, Moorhead; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Wilbert (Mary) Seed, St. Vincent; two sisters, Eulalia Curtis, Canton, Ill. and Mary Stacey, Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Nelson; and two sisters and their husbands, Marie (Loren) Krumholz and Verna (Harry) McGlashan.

Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 23, 1998, 2 p.m. in the Evangelical Free Church in Pembina.

Interment was in the St. Vincent Cemetery, St. Vincent. Rev. David Pearson, presiding.

Pallbearers were Adam Seed, Chris Hulle, Jack Lupien, William Dykhuis, David Seed, Paul Dietz, Bernard Kain, Dan Gaetz, Arlo Bergh, and Joshua Seed.

Hughes Funeral Home, Hallock, was in charge of arrangements.
