David's father in law, Dr. Demars urged him, in 1893, to go into the drug business and he did. He remained in that business until he retired in 1950 when he sold out to Andrew Clay. D. A. Robertson had the distinction of being the oldest practicing druggist in the State of Minnesota and possibly in the nation. He died three years after retirement.
