Mary Louise Deere, 54, of Kennedy, died at the Grand Forks United Hospital on Monday, May 23, 1994.

Mary Louise was born at Warren on February 6, 1940, the daughter of George and Evelyn (Goulet) Lennon. She attended primary school in Kennedy, where she graduated in 1958.

On September 27, 1948, Mary Louise was united in marriage to Louis Deere at Hallock. They moved to Minneapolis, where Mary Louise attended the University of Minnesota from 1958 to 1963 where she worked and modeled for Cheri Paul Studios. Mary Louise and her family resided in Plaza, ND for one year before moving to Kennedy in 1964.

Mary Louise was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic church and served as a member of the Kennedy City Council. Mary Louise was a staunch supporter of her family and many Kennedy city, community and school athletic activities.

Family survivors include her husband, Louis Clayton, Kenndey; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Louis and Jennifer Deere, Kennedy and Thomas Jon and Karen Deere, Hampton, VA; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth and Michael D. Traynor, Grand Forks; four grandchildren, and a brother, James Edward Lennon, Palm Desert, CA; and her mother-in-law, Dorothy M. Deere, Kennedy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and George Lennon.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 26, in the Kennedy Cemetery. Music was provided by Charles and Patti Swanson and St. Patrick's Choir with Sharlene Klegstad as organist.

Pallbearers were James J. Lennon, Robert N. and James Dahl, Robert Mattson, Wayne and Lynden Langen, David Lundberg and Lewis Stromberg.

Arrangements were with Hughes Funeral Home of Hallock.
