Collins Clinton

International Falls - Collins Clinton, 68, International Falls, and formerly of Hallock, died at his home Friday, Aporil 20, 2001.

Collins William Clinton was born at Humboldt, Aug. 7, 1932, the son of Bert and Laura (Johnston) Clinton. He attended schools in Kittson County and served with the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.

In July of 1953, he was united in marriage to Rose Marie Agman. Rose Marie died in 1987. Collins worked on several farms in North Dakota, the Hallock Creamery, Glidden Dairy Farm and the Kittson County Highway Department.

He retired from the highway department in 1994 after 26 years there. In August of 1988 he married Jeanette Lorraine White at International Falls. Collins and Jeanette moved to International Falls in 1994. He was a member of the Hallock American Legion.

Family members include his wife, Jeanette; four sons, Greg (Dianne) Clinton, Hallock; Bruce Clinton, Grand Forks; Scott (Elaine) Clinton, Blaine, and Brent Clinton, Fargo; two daughters, Doreen (David) Skappel, Grand Forks and Colette (Bob) Pede, Hallock; a stepson, Dale (Susan) White, International Falls; two stepdaughters, Deborah (Brian) Kittelson, International Falls and Diane (John) Mattson, Fort Francis, Ontario, Canada; five grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Farbo, Hallock and Bernice Benny, Minnetonka; two brothers, Raymond Clinton, Lancaster, and Earl (Bonnie) Clinton, Shakopee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Rose; and infant daughter, Coleen; four brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.

Funeral services were Tuesday, April 24, 11 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock, Rev. Robert Kippley, presided.

Pallbearers were Kenneth Nordine, Larry Jauhola, William Dykhuis, Harold Phillips, Don Nordling, Roy Hanson and Leonard Renville.

Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock.

The Hughes Funeral Home Hallock was in charge of arrangements.
