Lilla was a member and worked for United Church Women. She was a housewife who raised a family. She did a lot of knitting of baby clothes, socks and sweaters. Lilla did a lot of visiting in the West with Fankie Dawson and Ralph Boundy after her husband passed away.

Leonard was a school teacher in P.E.I. before coming out west. He worked for Cockshut as an accountant. They sold farm machinery. Leonard worked for Macklin Motors in Calgary for a time. He moved to Vancouver and owned and operated a convenience store there. He then moved to Amherst, Nova Scotia and worked for the Coca Cola Company. He also taught adult night wood working classes. Owned houses in Calgary and Amherst. He liked lawn bowling and gardening. He won prizes for his garden in Calgary.
