Myrtle Hoper

Stephen, Minn .- Myrtle Hoper, 97 died Saturday, March 23, 2002 at the First Care Nursing Home in Fosston.

Myrtle Clarice Britten was born Jan.. 12, 1905 in Springbrook Township, Kittson County, the daughter of Carl and Clara (Syversori) Britten.

She attended country school and graduated from Stephen High School in 1923. She lived with the Lyons during the school year starting in the 6th grade.

On March 8, 1928, she was united in marriage to William H. Hoper at Donaldson, Minnesota. They made their home in rural Stephen, where they farmed.

William died Dec. 21, 1995. Myrtle moved to the First Care Nursing Home Sept. 18, 2000.

.She was an active member of the St. Petri Lutheran Church where she served as the church organist for many years. Myrtle was also a member of the Farm Bureau, Happy Corners Homemakers, Marshall County Extension Board and she ran the Sister Kenney Drive in Marshall County.

Family surviving are two children; Carol Ann (Alvin) Hagen, Fosston, and John (Maria Kay) Hoper, Sikeston, Mo, son-in-Iaw, Allen Fisher, Portland, Ore. , 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchil-dren, sister-in-Iaws, Margarite Brit ten and Evelyn Brit ten.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at the First Lutheran Church in Stephen. Interment in St. Petri Lutheran Cemetery, rural Stephen. Rev. Michael Schendel officiated.

Pallbearers were Paula Hoper, Diana Fisher Wolford, Lauri Hoper Brady, Heather Hagen Archer, Patti Kay Hoper, Mark Hagen, Matthew Hagen, Mitchell Hagen, Christopher Hagen, Marshall Hagen, Michael Hoper.
