Bernstroms hold reunion near Lancaster
Kittson County Enterprise
21 August 2002
"Happiness is Bernstroming" continued to be the logo for the families of the late August and Sophie Bernstrom as they gathered for a family reunion at the old homestead east of Lancaster July 26-28.
On Friday evening there was a steak fry and corncob cookout, followed by roasting marshmallows and eating S'mores around the bonfire. On Saturday President John Bernstrom chaired a business meeting and Wendel Berstrom cried a fast moving auction of family crafts; and items from relatives in Sweden. There were skits, photography, and a lot of reminiscing. The children enjoyed the tire swing and big inner tube rolling. Roger Bernstrom entertained with his guitar strumming and singing. Sue Wilson gave a beautiful oration titled, "It takes a lot of living to make a house a home."
On Sunday morning Paster Alden Erlandson gave an invocation, and Pastor Marshall Johnston led the outdoor worship service. Musical selections by the Skoog family, the David Bernstrom family, Marshall and Kathy Johnston, and Lyndon Johnson were enjoyed by the gathering. Pastor Dan Fullerton brought a message on relationships. Paster Ronald Skoog closed the worship service with prayer.
