Bahr, Earl Franklin
B: 07 Sep 1921, Correctionville, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Franklin and Alvina Bahr. His father died when Earl was one year old. Earl and his mother came to Kittson County where she helped Carl Wiese, wo had been left a widower with four small children. Later they were married and Earl then had three brothers: Ernest, Arnold, Alvin and a sister, Winona.

Obituary

Earl Bahr, 84, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away at his home on Friday morning, March 3, 2006. Earl Franklin Bahr was born September7, 1921 in Correctionville, Iowa, the son of Frank and Alvina Bahr. He moved to Minnesota as a child and graduated from Humboldt High School. Earl served with the U.S. Navy for two years during WWII and spent part of his service in the South Pacific. On April 3, 1948 he married Bea Hoglin. They farmed in the Humboldt area until their retirement in 1985. Earl and Bea spent winters in Texas from 1980 to 2004. They moved into Hallock in 1992. Earl was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and had served on the church council, was a former Midland Co-op Director, served on the Humboldt School Board, the Kittson Memorial Hospital Board and the Humboldt Telephone Company Board. Family members include his wife, Bea; two daughters, Janice (Jerry) LePage, Shoreview, MN and Julie (Tim) Swan, Marshfield, WI; a son, Vernon (Judy) Bahr, Humboldt; a step sister, Winona Droll, Worthington, MN; ten grandchildren and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Carl Wiese; an infant sister; step brothers, Ernest Wiese, Arnold Wiese and Alvin Wiese. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock. Visitation will be at the Adamson-Austin-Hughes Funeral Home in Hallock on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
