Early members were families of Knowles, Van Gorden, Abbott, Attix, Kempton, Berg, Hayes, Dugdale, Holcomb, Tassell, Burns, John Tice, Barker, Robinson, Ewift, Clark,Borchert,Kemp, Martson and Morris.

*Researchers unfamiliar with western Polk County, especially the East Grand Forks area, should be aware of important facts. East Grand Forks is on the ND border. Across the border (Red River of the North), is Grand Forks, Grand Forks County, ND. East Grand Forks has never had a hospital and until the mid-1960s did not have a cemetery (Resurrection). If you believe a birth/death/burial was "in East Grand Forks," you should try Grand Forks Vital Records. The two oldest cemeteries in Grand Forks are Calvary and Memorial Park.
