Welcome to Milaca Area Historical Society

The purpose of the Milaca Area Historical Society is to collect,  preserve, and disseminate knowledge about history of the Milaca area and Mille Lacs County. The goal of the Society is to locate, collect, and preserve any material which may help to establish or illustrate the history of the Milaca area, to make available historical information, and to arouse and sustain interest in our past.

Our collection of local history records and documents, including records on microfilm(local newspapers, city, and township records, census, and naturalization); family histories; school memorabilia; cemetery records (which are in the process of being updated), obituaries, birth and marriage records, and more.

On the walls inside the museum are beautiful panorama WPA murals of the logging  days of the  past.

The building housing the museum  was built during the WPA days.
