The White Earth Band Ojibwe Indian tribe is also known as

the Chippewa tribe.  They prefer to call themselves Anishinaabe,

which means "the original people". 


Although the White Earth Band Indian Reservation is

located in Becker County, Minnesota, the Ponsford Indian Community

 is west of Hubbard County and shares in the commerce

of Park Rapids, the county seat of Hubbard County.
